It's odd to call a "fan theory" since post-reveal canon has existed far longer than the theory's life span, and also, internet was sparsely populated back then. Anyway, the theory is from The Simpsons, which was that Homer's mother was still alive, and that was eventually proven true when Mona finally appeared... Though, a later appearance she did die, but that's not pertinent here. lol

If all you had to do is wait a little bit to get an answer directly from the show/movie, it should not be considered a fan theory and put on this list. Nothing in star wars was "fan theory". Everything was answered as the story progressed. You simply can't make a 100 hour long movie. And in dragon ball, they've made it loud and clear Gohan had unique abilities he had not yet unlocked, and we all knew Gohan is the true protagonist of the story. Which is why Gohan in regular super sayin one can compete against goku blue. We were already told by the show it self, Gohan is a prodigy. It's not a fan theory. 🤦‍♂️

That's what J.J. Abrams unfortunately was going for he said in an interview when they were preparing to do the sequel trilogy that they weren't using any of the material from the expanded universe which imo was a dumbass move because it would've made the sequel trilogy better by showing that the new republic was thriving, the new Jedi order was also doing well under Luke Skywalker's leadership but that instead of rehashing the old "Rebellion vs. Empire" storyline which had already been done in the original trilogy they could've introduced a new more frightening menace to the galaxy that being the Yuzhanvong BUT NOOOOOOO instead dumbass Abrams goes and does the stupidest thing possible basically tries to reboot the original trilogy thinly disguising it as a "sequel trilogy" and Lucas just went along with it while counting all that money Disney fuckin' threw at him to tempt him into selling his "baby" to THEM!! (DUMBASS!!!) 😡
