That speaks volumes lmfao. Not watching the vid, came only for the comments. I'm kinda disappointed that Conan invited that person... Conan & Corden - one is a funny, creative, talented, thoughtful & genuinely good person, and the other is James Corden. As a Brit, I had such a mental dichotomy when James Corden was announced as the LLS host. Craig Ferguson was one of the best in the business to do this (Conan and Craig are my two favourite late show hosts of all time), so I was sad that he left, but I was so happy that Corden got the job so we wouldn't have to deal with him in the UK any more. Good glad he felt that way cause he was terribly unqualified. He should feel that way, because he is deeply unqualified. He’s by far the worst late night host and from what I hear about working with him on a professional level, he’s absolutely insufferable to be around. Like Piers Morgan, there’s a reason they can’t hack it with a UK audience and get shuffled over to the US to try and revive their careers. Because they’re just terrible people on a personal level and nobody can stand working with them. This guy is such a Hollywood toad. Stop platforming him. Why isn't Craig Ferguson much more appreciated. I still rewatch his madness version of a talk show. Definitely would love to see a Podcast with Conan and Craig. James you are deeply unqualified for everything He's not qualified to host a children's puppet show. I'm glad his feelings were in alignment with reality. He felt deeply unqualified and then showed the world his feeling was valid. He does not deserve to be on your show. I agree with the other comments! Craig Ferguson should be on your podcast! I am commenting but refusing to press play on this clip The first 60 seconds of this with him not rolling with the joke just about sums him up… smdh Craig was amaing inerviewer - on of the best I find it very telling that when talking about taking on The Late Late Show, Corden never once brought up Craig Ferguson and how he built up a massive and passionate fanbase over a short amount of time (nearly 10 years). No sense of humility whatsoever. Invite John Oliver Good, at least he's self aware. You’d have been better using Regarding Henry for Harrison Ford’s example. He played a big jerk and a mentally challenged character in one movie.

Kurt Russell anyone? ANYONE? The guy did forgettable Disney movies until John Carpenter made him Snake Plissken in “Escape From New York”.

Good call. Kurt Russell was the teen Mr. Disney. Snake Plissken will never be mistaken for anything Disney.

I was reading the list first. Kurt Russel was my pick. He actually moved genre a few times from kids, to action, to romance, to drama. His first action role was Big Trouble in Little China though, in 1986.

Ryan Gosling was literally picked for "The Notebook" because it was so out of character for him. The after "Crazy Stupid Love", "La La Land" and "The Good Guys", he was Neil Armstrong in "First Man" and then from that to Barbie. I guess he has never been type cast. When will you do the one of most versatile.

No one ever mentions John C. Riley. When I was a kid, he only did serious roles and I first remember him alongside Kevin Bacon in the Meryl Streep film A River Wild. Now he's pretty much known for being a slapstick comedian and Will Farrell's sidekick, but he started as a very serious drama actor.

No James Gandolfini? He was a college hippy that was known for plays and family centered acts. The ability of him turning into Tony Soprano is the same level of not better than Bryan Cranston. No disrespect to Bryan Cranston he should have been 2 and James Gandolfini should've been 1

Bruce Willis playing the role of a complete wimp in Death Becomes her, and Macaulay Culkin not only playing the villain but the youngest villain ever in the God Son.

Well to be honest, Bruce Willis was an actor playing sitcoms and comedies (Moonlighting, Blind Date and Look who's Talking are some examples) then he had his chance in Die Hard. I remember seeing the trailer in the cinema and thinking "that's a weird casting" but he nail it.
@TomasCorvidea7 ай бұрын
@@vivitaquerida But not in any of his pre-Die Hard roles did he play an emasculated wimp the way he did in Death Becomes Her. That role was a complete reversal from his action star days post Die Hard.

Meg Ryan in When a Man Loves a Woman or Courage Under Fire, and Patrick Stewart in Jeffrey have to be up there. Harrison Ford finally playing a villain was definitely notable, but I'd say The Mosquito Coast or 42 showed off his range more - the first is a total against-type character still utilizing that charisma, while the second is a proper character actor-type role.

Hugh Jackman going from musicals (Oklahoma, the Boy from Oz) & a few somewhat forgettable movies to Wolverine should get an honourable mention. ETA: Terrence Stamp who mostly played "sophisticated villains" (Wikipedia) playing Bernadette in "Priscilla Queen of the Desert" Also Guy Pearce in the same movie, previously a soapie star, showed his character acting range. Never really typecast after that.
