Fantastic job on this list! Very awesome how detailed and descriptive you were in your comments for each theme, in my opinion I thought they were spot on although I admit I am very partial to everything Megaman 2, lol. The top 3 even after hearing them time and time again still had me completely pumped when they came up on this list! If you really like Megaman music then I have something for you. This band performed the entire Megaman 2 music while the game was being played from start to finish on stage. From a musician standpoint, the level of difficulty in taking on such a tremendous project plus all the time and effort into the performance being as tight and flawless as possible playing the challenging music is astounding. They even added to it in parts from Megaman 3 which I personally thinks makes it better adding energy and direction to the entire thing. Anyway you and everyone else reading this should definately check this video out. I will post it as a reply to this comment.

Slept on MM1&4 REALLY HARD. But I'll give mad props for the Mega Man III intro music at #2 - would've never considered adding the start menu music to my lists but I actually remember when I was growing up, intentionally leaving the start screen on during MM3 just to heard that third act a few times over. Love it! Y'all did sort of cop out with #1 considering how controversial they bulk of this list both in what was left out and where certain choices were placed. Not to mention bravely throwing the most recent MM games into high ranks, surpassing many nostalgic classics. For that, I'll give he kudos for making your own list your way, props.

33:36 - The actual issue was that the US and Japanese version of the game had completely different intro themes. This one is the US version, and you'll typically only hear the Japanese version if you switch your game version to Japanese, such as you can do in the first Mega Man Legacy Collection from 2017.

Fun video! Most of MM2 and MM3 made it into this list which is both correct and makes me happy (in fact, I don't think there's a song from MM3 that didn't make it in correct me if I'm wrong). Yeah, I love Protoman's theme to death, but it does stay in the higher registers without a counterbalance - something I have noticed can cause ear strain after listening to it for too long. ....And I frequently listen to this music for hours. I love that song.

I LOVE YOU!!!!! I agree with your list. Although i believe a bit more credit is due to Abandoned Memories, i don't think it is the best, just saying a bit higher, maybe 3-4 spots. Just my opinion though. I loved every second of this video and it made me want to go back and the play the games just for the excellent composed pieces of beauty these songs are

Hey, I remember Cutman's theme! And I definitely enjoyed the theme from "Mr X's" castle in MM6 (moreso than Darkman in MM5). You know who I DON'T remember? Napalm Man. Flame Man. Forgettable. But otherwise, great job! Ha. Must have been hard. Top two became increasingly obvious due to exclusion, but that's why they're famous.

Lelouch Kaneki "Perfect?" Your subjectivity is noted. I've been playing Mega Mans 5 and 6 since the mid 90's, though. Part of all music from the latter 3 NES games is less memorable for me is due to the constant WHIRRRRRR of the Mega Buster drowning them out. I'll admit Napalm Man has a catchy riff, but Flame Man bores me to pieces. I'll always prefer the music of MM2 and 3.

that's your taste I guess but don't forget that the ranking isn't just about how catchy is the song (like metal man or others that I think are really overrated) but also about the complexity of the song.

Lelouch Kaneki Metal Man is one of my all time favorites, due mainly to the base line. But even after a few music theory classes back in college, I'm still not pretentious enough to purport that "more complicated = better music." Music shouldn't be judged with such mathematics. Perhaps simply being catchy does not mean better either, but I'm likely to be more attracted to song I tap my leg to than a song written in a 13/6 time signature that clashes blue notes over unresolved D minor 7ths.
