If it's just RLCS, G2 had a better season than BDS. If you count EWC I'm with you. Obviously overall history/legacy, EWC counts but when the word "season" is mentioned, it does make me instinctively think of the RLCS season exclusively you know? but in terms of each team's 2024 as a calendar year, I'm with you.

BDS finished 5-8th in OQ4, personally I would have G2 as #1 due to the rough majors, however I definitely see the argument of 1st at EWC and Worlds > 1st at Major 2 and 2nd at Major 1 and Worlds.

@@martianturtlerl Dignitas only made 3 top 8s, and only 1 top 4, plus they didn't even make regional 4. It's honestly a pretty indefensible position to have them ahead of M80 who consistently was a top seed out of swiss.

For every player the world cup is the most important thing, in terms of success BDS are clearly more happy of their season than g2

@@f-mex5806It is the most important thing to them, but in reality the prestige of winning a major should be neck and neck with winning World’s. It’s the same competition, and players are just as motivated to win a major as winning a World’s.

if it’s the whole season why wouldn’t G2 be at one. BDS was successful at two land and G2 was successful in all events. A second and first ata major is way more than two top 8s and a ewc win

it’s because BDS won the worlds. No matter what did you do during the season if at the end you win the worlds, you are the most successful team !

Don't worry it feels weird to me too. This was the first year I didn't have a team that won two RLCS LANs to be an easy number 1. I think any other team wins EWC and it's G2 at 1

@@martianturtlerl for me, it still feels like ewc is so much less prestigious compared to an rlcs lan. getting top 8 in 2 lans with 4 na and eu teams vs getting top 2 and winning 1 seems so much more valuable than winning a lan event with 3 na and 3 eu (also, the teams at ewc were invited)

To be honest I think G2 would technically be far and away the most successful team of the season, because regardless of who won EWC and Worlds, if we're looking at the ENTIRE season, G2 had a much higher average placement, indicating they were more consistent/successful. I think recency bias got in the way a little in this one.
