Strange list, almost none of the games i owned were in this list. This guy really likes fighting games. List should be a little more like: #1 Zelda, #2 Supermetroid, #3 Mario, #4 Brainlord, #5 Shadowrun, #6 Soulblazer, #7 Super Ghouls n Ghosts, #8 Starfox, #9 Castlevania, #10 Earthbound, Super R or Gradius

Super Metroid was good, but while Metroid, Contra and 2 Megaman X games make the list, there's no mention of Phantom 2040, which takes the best aspects of all those games, layers on a very complex story with optional routes, 20 endings and a killer soundtrack. It's highly underrated and little known.

I have never heard of half of these titles! I loved Super Castlevania, any Mega Man X game, any Mario, TMNT, Zelda, Contra... I am sure I missed a few. Great system! Would love to see a mini version of this made like the NES!

Yeah I don't agree with this list, but then again, lists like this are personal. I never really liked games like Final Fantasy, Zelda and Megaman, I was always more into fighting games, so MK2, Killer Instinct and SF2 turbo/super would be much higher on my list, probably all in the top 10. World Heroes, Primal Rage and Samurai Shodown were great games too imo. The Donkey Kong games are among the best of that time of course. Super Mario All Stars should be on the list, as it had 4 games in one I think. I remember many of these games though, like Starfox, R-Type and F-Zero, but I would put UN Squadron above them (and high on the list). Street Racer, Mario Kart and Turtles in Time all were a lot of fun, but I also remember Super Castlevenia 4, Brawl Brothers and Joe and Mac, to name a few. SNES was a great console, lots of fun games, awesome memories!

Beast MODE! The few that I don't own here I am putting on my SD2SNES right now and booting up my RGB modded SNS101- so many Japanese gems too that I am so thankful for fans doing translations too so I can experience Star Ocean, Tales of Phantasia, G.O.D., Alcahest, Bahamut Lagoon, Ganpuru, Clock Tower, Majuu Ou, etc etc.

I think that Super Metroid is not only best SNES game, but on of the best video games ever in any console/format. Of course, just my opinion.

Loved the Snes and the great graphics it had. The only problem was the CPU which was on the slow side and you got the slowdown in games but a minor issue most of the time.

The CPU was deliberately slow. Nintendo knew that clock speeds were getting faster on processors and that the processor would be obsolete in a year or two anyways, so why bother. They chose to make the graphics and sound more of a priority. When faster processing was needed, theyd just enhance the chips on the cartridges (they did this on the NES as well). Sega did the opposite with the Genesis. They took the specs of a Sharp X68000 and watered them down. The Motorola 68000 processor was most of the cost of manufacturing the console.

@@scottythegreat1 Seems like it was done for financial reasons. I wonder what the difference was in price between the one they had and a 68000 processor. I know at the time consoles had to come in at a certain price point to have mass market appeal. I paid £149.99 when it came out in the UK .
