Check near the airfield, at the end towards the beach and connecting almost to the river bellow, theres a canyon with 3 waterfalls. Amazingly beautiful. Great area for a base and some big connected builds too

at the virginia waterfall location it seems to make virginia stay and not wonder off or maybe they changed something with her for 1.0 but thats where I've been since 1.0. Can confirm its a great spot

Turns out I made my base right at the river/creek bend, not far outside of the Entertainment bunker ! Super convienient, seeing as it has a printer with resin spawns so I can make arrows and is close enough to a cooking pot spawn with rope and a can opener- score.

"""SPOILERS WARNING"" Honestly building a base near the end game bunker is the best thing to do in my opinion since when you get the zipline system inside the hell cave working you have so much ammo, meds and etc after the endgame per save startup takes around 4-7 minutes back and forth, so personally my favorite spots of 300 hours is either the Island in the big lake or Heli pads there is some alternatives there thats also good but I prefer these 2. One warning to a heli pad base is be prepared to get Cannibals and mutants very often. The Heli pad also have very good save startup loot.

they got rid of loot respawning though on re-loads....unless you enabled it on a custom difficulty.
