Tunisian crochet hooks can be found as afghan hooks, double headed crochet hooks, flexible hooks and interchangeable. They are made out of the same common materials as other crochet hooks: metal, bamboo or plastic. My journey this year has taken me through various types. In the end...I decided to keep all of them because they all have a different practical use. I personally purchased each of these hooks and sets myself as I gathered different sized yarns and fiber types.

I prefer aluminum as they glide better but not those long hooks as they tend to hurt my hands. I have a set of Love2Crochet and they are good too. Glad to see you were honest and said what you didn't like also, so I'll subscribe to your channel. Who doesn't love honesty.

Yes!! They still sell this Susan bates flexible afghan hook!! I just purchased one. I think Tunisian crochet is so much easier to teach a beginner and so I have one out of 3 daughters that wants to learn to crochet and I’ve been teaching her here and there bc she has such a busy life but next I’ll b teaching her this. The only thing I do t like is that the yarn curls. Wonder if there’s a way to stop it from doing that . Tfs. You have lovely hooks❤

If you get a smaller yarn than hook size…it seems to help with the curling issues. Larger hook seems to make a big difference.

I noticed one of your most recent videos first....about fountain pens (which I'm just getting started in).I enjoyed it.....so I checked out your channel & lo & behold, you talk about knitting & crocheting, afghan hooks . I have been crocheting for just shy of 51 yrs. I got into the Tunisian (that's a fairly new term for me....I always knew it as the afghan stitch & afghan hooks for years & years !) early on. The only afghan hooks I had for decades were the only ones available.....& that was long, metal ones w/a hook at just one end. These ones w/a cord are relatively new in the world of Tunisian (trying to teach myself to use that term now!) crocheting. I agree.....it makes such a nice thick stitch ! And it's so pretty.....& fun to do . I have a set (just 1) of the corded ones now & like them. I haven't made anything huge but if I ever want to , they will be the obvious choice because the long, old-fashioned ones have limited space on them, obviously ! I enjoyed this video very much.

I got the addi set and wanted the double so i found an other set on ebay for 30 total. The knook set is also the same hooks but includes a lifeline cord. I like them but i noticed the sizes rub off which makes me sad. Another idea for a stopper is the small needle point protectors. I think a few come in the set you linked.

What a great video! Really enjoyed your review. The Clover hooks are so pricey to get in Canada. I have a couple of Lauren Hill hardwood specialty Tunisians that are a joy to work with.

I recently got interested in tunisian and found I can do mosaic using the technique also. I bought the Knitter's Pride bamboo set (a good price right now on Amazon) but wanted a 4.5. Mm and larger than an L (in case) so bought 2 of the Ginger individual ones since all their cables work with all the interchangeable hooks and knitting needles. Also bought a swivel cable to try. Now I wonder about a 2 ended long hook to try tunisian in the round since I don't have 2 hooks the same size to put on a cable.

I have the Clover hooks and love them but am disappointed in the lack of sizes. I don't use the long kind as I find them uncomfortable. My daughter found a plastic set and so far I like them. They are like Denise's Interchangeable hooks. I found them on Amazon under $35.

I have Chiaogoo’s metal interchange needles (LOVE them) and can’t wait to get the compatible hook set. I plan on experimenting with blending knitting and crochet/Tunisian in the same piece. I also plan on getting the mini shorties since I want to make socks and have decided magic loop is not for me, going to try the two circulars method.

I just taught myself the simple stitch last night so looking for a needle set. I used a fixed cable Afghan hook I found at hobby lobby and after the first row I said to myself that I need something with a pointier head. I also find it hard to hold as there’s no flat part on the handle like regular crochet hooks. I’m only 11 rows in on a dishcloth and think I can knit much faster than this, but I think it’s the non-pointy hook with the sugar n cream yarn that’s making it more difficult

I just got a brand new set of the clover hooks on eBay for $45! The gal was asking $55 but she took offers and I offered $45 and she accepted it! i’m brand new to Tunisian and wasn’t sure what to buy so it looks like I bought the right ones! I just found you today and I’m not having any success trying to get to your website. Is it not up and running anymore? I was hoping to find what you have on your website about Tunisian crochet.

They aren’t my first choice. I like the lightweight bamboo with cords the best. But it is good for beginners to try with an inexpensive start.
