Thank you Brent ! Could you please make a video if it is better to invest in smart shares ETF VS other countries ETF . Pro and cons as I believe investment over 50k nzd have to pay additional taxes . Would really appreciate if you can provide some insight on the taxes part ,It will helpful for new investor like me whether to keep investing in ETFS ( USA and Au) or should I opt for NZ ETFS to save on tax

Heya! Interesting you bring it up, I have a video in the works touching on a similar topic of cases where ETFs might be disadvantageous to your returns. A few points to consider, overseas ETFs will require foreign exchange fees (Sharesies/Hatch 0.5% in and out). Investing over NZ$50,000 abroad will also incur a FIF tax, which is a bit tricky to calculate. Overseas ETFs also don't qualify under PIE for lower taxes.
