Hello! Can you do a video about franking? I think it might be useful to understand the concept in depth and understand how to count it when calculating a possible net return on a yield.

Great growth over time, but as an Australian citizen with holdings in Australian companies, I have learnt to avoid any exposure to the USA tax system. Had mining shares on the ASX rehomed to a Canadian stock exchange, only to have the IRS of the USA demand that I provide information to determine if I owed them anything.

International stocks can definately be tough at tax time. ETFs that invest globally are usually different though because you don't own the companies - the fund does. So it makes things easier if you want to invest in OS companies without the headaches.

HI Tracey - if you stripped out the effect of exchange rates, how would this compare with VHY, VAS and the others?

Hi Tracey, do you youse Commsec to buy your Vanguard ETfs or the Vanguard platform???? Their price structure isn’t very clear with what they charge in the long term especially investing weekly….
@TraceyEdwards
@TraceyEdwards 4 ай бұрын
Buying etfs through your trading platform (so commsec or whoever you’re with) is better than buying from vanguard as it’s much easier to get your money in and out. Plus you can see what price you’re buying at.

Do you need to invest through a Vanguard account? or can i buy through my existing CMC Invest Account? are the dividends paid the same as a direct share holding? thanks 👍👍
@TraceyEdwards
@TraceyEdwards 11 ай бұрын
Yes I buy my ETFs through my trading account. And dividends work the same although they are usually paid 4 times a year instead of 2 😊

Hi there, i have a question... i opened an account with Vanguard Australia, and when i try to transfer money on Vanguard cash account my bank doesn't recognise the bank details Vanguard made for me. Is that normal, should i go ahead and transfer money, or after i transfer money on my Vanguard account the money will just show on my Vanguard cash account?
@TraceyEdwards
@TraceyEdwards 10 ай бұрын
I'm not sure. I don't buy my ETFs through Vanguard directly, I use my trading account where I buy all my stocks as well.

Hello Tracey. Love your posts! I'm new to dividend investing. My Q is with dividend payouts through Vangaurd. Do funds get sent directly to your bank account or do they re-invest? or is there a way you can transfer from your trading account? Thanks!
@TraceyEdwards
@TraceyEdwards Жыл бұрын
When you first invest in a company or ETF you'll usually get sent details about what you want to do with the divs - either reinvest or get them directly (via either paper mail or email). You can set up your bank details then (or later).

those rates are usually honeymoon rates or have conditions (so many deposits per month etc). But yeah, some high interest accounts can be good.

I'm not a fan of Vanguards politics they are great as, a set and forget share. Any friend who wants to get started in shares I do recommend VAS and VAP as they are stress free and give the recurring dividends
