The defamation one is super easy to avoid. Don't post under your real name and don't post details that identify you. Post a review a month later about something vague like "poor service" and they'll have no way to follow through. If you post something like "I was in room 222 on 14th September" then you're putting yourself in danger.

On my best mate's second visit to Thailand(while I was living there) after me re-telling him how to say Hello, thank you and goodbye and sorry and cheers etc he went to Lumpini stadium and while making a bet he put a 100 Baht note under the leg of his chair, one of the serving ladies freaked out(but realised he was sorry, even though he was saying Khop Khun Khap instead of Kor Thot Khap)...bad place for that mistake, I know quite a few Thai Army guys and when I won about 6000 dollars at a casino on the border(not gonna say exactly where) there were a few of them near-ish, I had to get them to collect me as there were a few geezers our to steal my money back, it got a bit tricky, I have a LOT of stories from South East Asia. Love the place.

Also if you have an electric bikes or scooters the legal power limit is under 250w and you have to be able to prove it on the spot but most police dont know the legal limit for power they think it is all illegal so you will get the fine anyways. The police can choose the fine and it can be anything between 1 and 10,000 baht

No. You are buying a commodity that may lose all it's value, but your still buying something with a record of the transaction. It might be viewed as a gamble buying it, but the gamble doesn't start until after you own it.
