3:33 For the cases where the scholar specialized in engineering, actually there are two variations of scholar. The Aserai one has 120 medicine and another one has 60 engineering. Same applies to Wronged, the Hill, Wanderer, etc. The easy way to recognize the variants is to look at their culture.

I choose companions for 3 reasons: Party Leaders, Governors, and Party Roles. Weapon types and levels become largely irrelevant since you will grind them with you.

idk I think it takes so long to grind their skills from 0, easier if they come with the stats u want

@@TotalWarKS I think your missing the point. Your not grinding for fighting skills, your grinding to improve and augment their main purpose: Scouting, Smithing (irrelevant with the SmithStaminaRegenFix mod), Medicine, or Engineering for dedicated party roles; Steward and Engineering for Governors; Tactics and Leadership for Party Leaders. You hunt for those best companions you can find for their roles and the purely 'fighter' companions get tossed aside once you've got disposable income and fiefs to protect. I will admit, the PERKS gained by having exceptional skills really add up for governors and party leaders.

I just arm all my companions with ranged and horses, cap their skills and get them to lvl 30 asap. Money is really not an issue with current game mechanics so i dont even use caravans. I will occassionally use some as governors to speed up construction projects. But for the most part they are on bodyguard duty on follow. For small fights id retreat the entire army and just run circles around enemy formationa with the companions on follow until out of ammo.

The companions seem to be completely random for every playthrough. name, skills, who spawns, and how many all seem to be randomized now

If there is no "of the wastes" I usually look for "the horsetheif" for scouting. It didn't look like your video included horsetheif.

I have my brother as a governor of one if my castles man's a beast has almost all of his skills maxed out and I didn't do anything to lvl him up other then the beginning of them game had him as a caravan runner fir a few years tell I got a castle gifted to me

the skills are automatically allocated before you hire them unfortunately
