Another great video. Thanks Alex. Where would you suggest we could acquire the high end corals from in the UK and how much can we expect to pay for frags of the corals you’ve just mentioned. Thanks 👍🏼

Those fancy montis came from Frag Farm (available on Facebook). Prices vary but the most expensive monti frag I've bought via them was £150 for goldrush monti.

You are my new fave!!! Been watching all your videos and man you have given me some really good pointers! I especially liked the top things that newbie dont do that pros do or something like that and also equipment you wish you would have bought early on! I have already upgraded js about everything! From salinity checkers to ph and now I am going to get alkalinity! Might send back the ph though! Already upgraded my smallone but had to since it cracked. My light,my filter, I just spend, spend, spend and I done even have my first coral! haha. I am also looking for a bigger tank! lol I can barely afford my small one! So freaking addictive...someone should have warned me hehe

My Top 7 most underrated are: 7 - Pectinia - they are the most out of flavor coral of 2019 - the opposite to a torch. Because of that you can't find them anywhere. I don't think you get a more amazing rainbow on any coral - and it if you have seen 2 gay reefers it also has the most incredible feeding display of any coral. A couple of years ago Than at Tidal Gardens said it could be the next big thing - that was the kiss of death 6 - As you cheated I'm gonna say Carpet Anenomes - incredible and they don't walk all over your tank - I'd never get a bubble tip but one of these... in second tank (drop-off) would be awesome 5 - High end montis 4 - Moon Corals - Favites / Favia / Goniastrea 2 - Montipora Digitatas - ok they are fast growing - stunning colors on the blue, bubble gum and my favorite the Forest Fire - although it does anger me that most forest fires aren't really forest fires with that lovely green and bright yellow on the tips. 1 - Anacropora - have you seen the Golden Rod? When that becomes affordable for mere mortals (and in Europe) look out! The Green Goblin is sick too

Marcel Rodriguez Fragbox . Ca sold a 1” frag for CAD550 🙀 yeah they are insanely expensive and out of my price range - I hope in a couple of years they be under 200 as it should grow fast

I love the 'fancy' montipora too, but at least here in the USA they are REALLLLLY expensive.

They're not too bad over here but some are getting a bit pricey. I think I saw a crazy t frag for $350 when I was researching this video 😲

My red fin Foxface is liking my LPS and soft corals. I have a lot of sponges on the rocks that he is keeping down but he also going for the softies. Any advice please? I would like to keep him for the white tube sponges.

You can try increasing your feeding but once they've got a taste, you're done. I'd remove him personally - you can always try another specimen.

How would you frag the leptastrea once it grows too far? It’s really nice but I’d be afraid when it comes to fragging with it being on a main rock that you can’t remove.
@ReefDork5 жыл бұрын
That's the trouble with encrusters. I just let it do its thing but if I want to frag it, I put putty around the coral then pull it off when it grows over the putty.
@willd53775 жыл бұрын
I never thought of that. That’s such a good idea
@karennation35803 жыл бұрын
I dont care for encrusting corals and have seen some beautiful montiporas. How do you know which ones branch and which plate besides, of course plating montiporas which are always kind of plain!

Ive put two incredible hulk leptoseris and both turn grey and die in less then a month idk why. All parameters are stable and i keep all kinds of lps but that one.

Ask the one who you perchased it from about his/her parameters, lights and feeding. Though I wouldn't personally change my parameters just for one coral.

Encrusting montis need to be isolated because once they start spreading, they don’t stop.

Great info. Nice reef! For the love of all humanity and creatures great and small..that wallpaper has to go though brother! ..At the very least, why not paint or vinyl the back glass ? You can’t honestly be happy of that look are you? It’s dorky looking...oh I get now. Cheers

I Dig the Wall Paper - it makes me want to deck out my whole place - Someone needs to make a classy coral reef version though. I also don't get these coral art that people are putting over their tank - its above the water! It should be a glowing tropical island... maybe I should go out and buy some paints ;)

Has anyone said Lepto is SPS yet? LOL
@ReefDork5 жыл бұрын
I've never been able to work out exactly what that is! Or cyphastrea or psammocora! Lepto probably feels more like LPS I guess - it flaps in places it encrusts.
