Wayside is based off of a book called: Sideways Stories from Wayside school and features a new kid for every chapter. I remember one chapter where there was a kid in like 15 coats and they took them all of and he was a rat and jumped out the window.

cartoon network, it ran for 4 seasons, 95 episodes aired on CN, 1 did not, and it changed ownership from season 1 to season 2 the show got a revamp a few years ago with a live action 5th season, unfortunately, as CN pissed them off, we wont be seeing it in America anytime soon, hope you know French (yes, it is one of two 'anime-like' FRENCH cartoons...)
