So, this is a bit of a tangent, but it's worth me explaining that pandas should *not* be saved as a species. Now, that might sound really cold, but here's the thing; Pandas are evolutionarily, a dead end. Their sole source of nutrition is so lacking IN nutrition they have to spend all day every day eating or they'll starve to death. They show little or no desire to actually breed and further their own species. Although humans have sped up the process of their extinction due to loss of habitat, the fact is that without us, they might have already gone extinct by themselves. Now, that's not so bad, but the REAL problem is that we put SO much money into keeping this dead-end of a species alive, it takes away money from other endangered species that are not only just as, if not even more threatened than them, but are also vital to their eco-systems. Pandas are not. In a perfect world I'd see animals of all kinds thriving. But if it comes down to saving pandas or saving 10 other threatened species, I'd just let the pandas go.

Zara Good You're super right. They are so adorable it's almost unfair. Buuuuuuut you can't just go saving things because they're cute. Winged mapleleaf molluscs aren't cute or even interesting, but they are a vital part of an eco-system. They deserve just as much saving as pandas. (there's less than 1000 left in the world!)
