I walk around that end of Cardiff in the early morning an last thing at night on my dog walks an most the people you see are friendly an just get on with whatever there upto after a quick hello or whats up tbh the trouble is way over exaggerated in my eyes. My whole family spent most our lives in ely an stanway place/stanway road as kids and some still live there now. The house in the corner of stanway place was always strange to me as a child. Someone moved in an within six months to a year it was empty again. We used to go in there all the time an believe me when i say im not scared easy at all i walk cardiff to barry an everywhere in-between with the dog every night through lanes an fields in the pitch black. But i can tell you we ran out of that house a couple of times due to hearing a man shouting upstairs or the fire alarm going off,loud banging from another room or glass smashing. We used to play as kids at st Mary's church too an I also do St Mary's church walk in the nights some day depending on the weather as i live close an still to this day i see things there that begs believe. Saw white cloak's or ghosts just floating around in the woods,weird chanting doesn't sound like welsh or English, once or twice I saw full body apperisions, weird callings a baby crying even my dogs reaction tells me im not alone sometimes an she doesn't do that when we see other people or dogs or any other animals. She's a well behaved dog so it freeks me out as she'll stop dead in her tracks an growl at nothing I'll ask whats wrong an she just freezes an growls at nothing i point my torch an shed light on the situation but i see nothing there's no noises, no people or animals in sight. Shes off lead so can go an run if she wants but she comes right by me an stays there focused on where shes seen or heard whatever it is until she feels we are safe an then as if nothing has happened she'll wander back into the woods an fields just ahead of me. This has happened more than couple of times near st Mary's church and up by the old quarry near wenvoe too a few times she has just kicked off at an empty bus stop for no reason again torch on nothing there its always the same one too freeks me right out everytime

I never lived in Ely, although my mam spent her working life in Ely Surgery - opposite the hospital and fire station and then in the new one on Mill Road. Anyway, as a kid we lived in Windway Road (Canton)... some really messed up stuff there, the entire family saw stuff. We were only there a year - they forced us out. Weird thing is that it was a year to the absolute day of moving in that we moved out. Moved to Bwlch Road. Now both my folks are dead and I live in Munich. Funny how life turns out.

When we moved in, there was some furniture left from the previous owners, including a very comfy armchair. One time my gramps comes into the kitchen/dining room and he has a double take because some old guy is in "his" chair - the deceased husband of the seller died in the chair - or at least was very fond of it. My folks asked the neighbours about the previous owners... the description was pretty bang on for the person in the chair. I saw him once... mum and dad had gone out and it was just my brother, myself and two sisters. I´m the youngest. I did really understand what was going on but they were pushing the settee across the living door to stop it opening/to stop someone coming through. While they were freaking out I wondered who the old man in the dark suit in the corner was. On of my clearest - and earliest memories

Crazy story dude,I was born and raised in canton and then I also moved to germany for 5 years,naumburg halle zalle and then to the west bielefeld,in them 5 years I visited every major city in germany even Munich or how they say,munchen,my keyboard unfortunately has no umlots,yes i had a great time in germany,I was there 97 to 2002,great food,great people too,ich liebe deutschland

holy shit! that house "4 stanway place" i lived on the last house on the left, my mothers friend lived at number 4 her name is gale, about 10 years ago we moved away.. this ghost is said to have followed gale everywhere she went, she described him as an old man and it attempted to strangle her a couple of times, followed her from st melons to ely, i think she died while living at number 4. Also, while I was a kid before we moved, we went to say goodbyte to her and i said goodbye to freddy and said it was a shame i never got to see him or witness anything and then within seconds the fire alarm went off playing some kind of nursery melody. Obviously sounds like a bullshit story but take it as it is, that's what happened.

I lived in a house outside of Ely where a woman had been murdered in the house next door before we moved in and then when new people came to move into that house (we were close with these new people) they put clocks up and the clocks never worked even with brand new batteries in them they never worked and one day when I was 1 my mum and the neighbour both heard a new born baby crying and I was the youngest baby on the street at that time, it really freaked my mum and the neighbour out

No2. I lived in the house with the tree in the garden for 20 years and didn't experience anything. I lived in vachell road though for 6 weeks and both my sister and I experienced some freaky stuff.

Can you do a video of Bargoed please, I can tell you of the following places that are haunted, ''Redz parc hotel'' in Cardiff road. Cartreff hall, also in Cardiff road. Hanbury lodge, again in Cardiff road, leading to Ruth street. Bargoed police station in Hanbury road. You can google these places and take photo's, I would love you to do a video of it.

Andrew Dexter Hi, recently I was about to purchase Hanbury Lodge in Bargoed after it being on the market for nearly two years... I loved the house inside but got a sickly feeling in the kitchen, I brushed that off even though they say go with your gut. we were going through with the purchase but something kept holding me back. a few problems arose along the way and we eventually decided not to go through with the sale, after this decision I felt like a huge weight had been lifted from me. l later found this blog about places that are haunted in Bargoed and saw that Hanbury Lodge was one of them. Could you please share what you know about the property as I'm intrigued to know? Thanks M

Marie Davies, Hello, thank you for your very welcome comment. Yes. The owner was Mark. I lived in Cardiff road where Hanbury lodge is, and his wife died at the property. Mark is not a personal friend of mine but we know each other and he told me he's experienced a number of things that can't be explained rationally. It started soon after his wife died, then he wanted to sell the property, he grew up there but now he seems really keen to sell it.

Mark told me things briefly, he said there's an old man there as well, but Mark is on facebook, I'm sure he'll be more able to give you full details. I'm on facebook as well, I had odd things happen in the home I lived in Bargoed, called Gladstone villa, it's on you tube, I called it ''Johnny the ghost'' you'll find it by that title. This is close to Hanbury lodge. I'm sorry I don't have much detail about the property but I do about Reds parc hotel (Gladstone villa. )
