I currently ride an FZ07 but as a fairly risk-averse middle-aged guy, I know I'm probably only ever using about half of this bike's capability. Even though I'm not a "beginner", I sometimes find myself thinking the financially smart thing would be to trade it in for a ~500cc bike of some kind. I might have to open the throttle a bit more but with the way I ride I'd probably not even notice the power difference too much

My first motorcycle was a R3. My R3 made me fall in love with Yamaha as an overall brand. For years, I never looked at any other brands, simply because I was honestly (and embaressingly) scared that the other brands weren't gonna give m the experience that Yamaha gave me... Until I got a Ninja H2R. I've been riding since I was 16 so it's been a little under 8 years since I've been riding and I am more willing to try other brands. Just gotta say thanks to Yamaha and Kawasaki for building amazing bikes and teaching me to explore other brands a little.

I've owned streetbikes which ranged in size from 185cc two strokes up to those which were liter sized. With this being said, one of my favorite bikes was a Suzuki GS450E. This was a light weight, sporty, naked bike which had plenty of power for highway speeds and accelerated strong enough to embarrass most street cars. You dont need to spend a ton of cash to put a smile on your face. The simple fact is there are times when less can give you more.
