I'm glad you talked about Boy and Girl from Doctors Without Borders. I'm not disturbed often by PSAs, but if you played the audio of them, that shit would legit keep me up at night. Honestly those two are the most disturbing PSAs/PIFs from the UK imo, and that's saying a lot, considering the shit they've made

2:05:01 i remember seeing this PSA in an animated movie about nuclear fallout, named When The Wind Blows. It was based off a graphic novel by the same name.

Yeah, I believe I referenced When The Wind Blows in my commentary, and it's one of the saddest movies imo. The movie heavily references Protect And Survive, and the knowledge that in practice, none of the advice in the PSAs would work, if only because When The Wind Blows shows this, makes said PSAs all the more chilling.

Regarding 42, Jeffrey Dahmer actually killed his first human victim when he was 18 not 30. The Victim was a hitchhiker just about Jeffery's' age named Steven Hicks. They hung out drinking for a while and Hicks wanted to leave, but Dahmer didn't want him to leave so Dahmer beat Hicks to death with a 10 pound free weight. What he did to the body after that is too gruesome for me to type here.

To me the smoking ad terrified me and this was a bad memory I forgot. I remeber this coming on late at night. Honestly, the black and white, the monotone, its a gut punch for me and scares me quite a bit. No sound, just cold hard truth. Im also a victem of smoking in many ways, so maybe my impact is diffrent for me. Its almost uncanny valley idk why.

Am I going to waste my life reviewing all 75 of these with you? Yes, yes I am. 75. I feel really bad for him. 74. I'm an absolute puppetry fanatic, and even I find those eyes creepy. Far from the creepiest puppet eyes, however. I wonder if there are shared puppeteers here from my favorite show of all time, Fraggle Rock, as it was filmed in Canada and I'm pretty sure I already heard that the 80s Canadian puppetry world had a lot of Fraggle overlap. Wondering the same for "Don't You Put It In Your Mouth" and the one with the mice. EDIT: Huh, PIF Wiki says Radical Sheep did it, the studio behind The Big Comfy Couch. No source to the claim, but if true, then there is some Fraggle Rock overlap as it was founded by some of the puppeteers. 73. I've always found these recall-style statements really haunting. Goldwater Law Firm has always haunted my dreams... 72. Haunting 71. Yeah, this is creepy as shit. I'm pretty sure the seller was some sort of brainwashed. 70. This is really sad... poor zebra... 69. Frightening in its simplicity 68. Always one of my favorite uses of Fridge Horror. The moment you realize what is going on, it hits you like a brick. 67. As someone sensitive to animal abuse that loves bears, it makes me want to cry. You're not alone in getting hurt when toys get destroyed, because I do too. Still not as bad as THAT dancing bear PSA, though. Fortunately, dancing bears are a dying art. Good. 66. The amount that I just WINCED 65. This is an excellent PSA 64. Iconically frightening. Like I said, recall and legal ads freak me out. 63. WELL THAT ESCALATED QUICKLY. Please don't leave your kids unsupervised. It turned me into a a PIF watcher too. 62. Heartbreaking. Also, you are not the only sheep lover. Not entirely sure what you are, though. 61. SO CREEPY. I have always struggled to watch stop-the-kiddie-creeper ads the most out of all topics, to the point that most of my "I'm never watching this" list is of that category. (Edit: WELL SAID LIST IS EMPTY NOW THANKS TO THIS VIDEO, GOODBYE SANITY) 60. EWW. Makes me really sick to watch. 59. Ngl I'd watch the Animal Crossing horror series 58. Fire PSAs freak me out in general. One of my greatest fears. This ad goes from lighthearted to heartbreaking in one second. 57. The animation is nice, but then that last scene... 56. Ah, a classic. To this day, even expecting it, I STILL jump like that kid is getting shot. 55. Masterfully done. Speaking of Dove, I really like the various ads they've been doing in the modern age (which I've seen on the Clios website) about Tiktok trends that are apparently TERRIFYING. Seriously, people are telling their followers to file their teeth?! 54. This one HURTS because there are no more black rhinos in Tanzania. The poachers exirpated them in that country. The bullets were shot... 53. I've always loved this and "Swim". So terrifying and heartbreaking, yet so masterfully shot. I like that you're giving this one the attention it deserves instead of its more famous cousin. It's a good thing they found the dog passed out when she wasn't passed out for a while (as opposed to passed out for a whole day) as while still grim, she has a chance. 52. By sheer coincidence, I watched this for the first time earlier today. It's very freaky, but the metaphor is excellent. CONTINUED BELOW

51. Simple, yet VERY effective. I love its gloom. 50. I actually got this as a KZbin ad once, not skipping due to liking the artstyle. To say I was shocked by the sudden twist is an understatement. 49. Yeah, this one is HAUNTING. That final tagline sends chills. 48. A masterful PSA about the fact that assholes are not a thing of the past, despite much of the public kind of just covering their ears over all of this. I'm so sorry about your sister dealing with dipshits. I know how that is myself (I have autism and have dealt with many shitheads). I hope she is doing well. 47. The face blurring is uncanny as hell. 46. Ah, nothing to freak me out like an unblinking thousand-yard stare! 45. Haven't I read before that this played on children's things? I would have been traumatized by this. With that said, a very important message. 44. Oh, this one has always made me WINCE. It'd probably be on my own scariest list. That baby that somersaulted into the living room as their neck went backwards... 43. Absolutely haunting. I didn't know the full story until now, yikes. 42. Horrific. There really were the signs right there all along. 41. The fact that I turned down my phone the second I saw what was next should say everything. Horrifying. Haven't I read before that they actually sent this guy to the sides of roads with his wheel in real life? That would be true fear to drive right past. I love how hauntingly mysterious it is. 38. So TAC is still at it, I see. I cringed HARD at what happened to his foot. 37. I've always found the spiritual sequel of sorts to "Funniest Home Videos" really underrated. It was added to TV Tropes Nightmare Fuel recently, and boy, did clicking that link made an impact. The calliope music and demon Mickey Mouse laugh over the injured kids is terrifying. 36. Those Tips From Former Smokers loved jumpscaring me as a kid. I always hated the guy that takes out his teeth (in another one) especially. 35. YEAH, NOPE, SKIPPING, NEVER AGAIN. The Cursed Commercials Twitter account innocently posted it one day. I felt like I was on a list IMMEDIATELY. YEAH NOPE NEVER AGAIN. 34. Horrifying. There isn't anything else I can say that hasn't been said about them already. 33. Those were horrifying, Jesus. We need to give more fuck-yous to the assholes that film disasters instead of helping. 32. Another PSA I have always found really underrated. The reveal that this is actual shit people have said about teens is so incredibly shocking. Taking a sanity break (as I have to do with the average very long scary PSA video). I'll be back.

I'M BACK 31. YIKES 30. YIKES YIKES YIKES 29. This is one of the scariest PSAs of all in my opinion. 28. Car accident PSAs always get to me, and this one is especially creepy. 27. I really like the animation here. 26. This thing is so obscure that I don't think we've put it on TV Tropes yet. It's also absolutely horrifying, Jesus. 25. Another really obscure and horrifying one. I like how a lot of this video is PSAs I haven't seen yet. 24. That twist is, holy crap. 23. Lewis seems like an absolute monster. 22. You know how I said I am inherently scared of car crash PSAs? This is one of the ones I saw when I was unsupervised on the internet too young that caused that. 21. What the hell? Was this trying to be darkly comedic? It comes across as just DARK. 20. As I think I said earlier, fire PSAs get me BAD. I think I have had actual nightmares about this specific one before. 19. THIS ONE TOO, THIS HAS ALSO DEFINITELY GIVEN NIGHTMARES 18. I got this as a random ad on Twitter. WHILE AT SCHOOL. THAT WAS FUN. The last part with the kid texting her mom gets me every time... 17. Famous for a reason. The first time I watched this, I think my jaw dropped directly to the ground. 16. Yeah, this one has always simultaneously terrified me and made me really sad. 15. Had to skip. Not only is it long, but, you know, I DIDN'T NEED TO SEE THE TOOTH SCREAM AGAIN. 14. One of the scariest PSAs of all time. The hounds sound borderline demonic, and then there's the GODDAMN CORPSES. 13. NASTY 12. Yeah, this has always been scary as shit. I've always wondered why there has never been an analogue horror thing in the style of Protect and Survive. The part about putting the corpse of your dead family member in another room is the worst part. 11. This one has always terrified me. Those kids terrify me beyond belief. And that poor cat... 10. So horrifying, I decided I'm only hearing its audio once. So, per tradition, it's on mute. 9. THIS IS FUCKING TERRIFYING WHAT THE FUCK. This is haunting my dreams tonight. 8. While the message is pulled off very well, YIKES. 7. These have to be some of the scariest PSAs EVER. God, there is some horrifying shit on this planet. 6. I WANT TO BARF. I FEEL LIKE I'M ON A LIST. It is the image that represents ALL PSA Nighmare Fuel on TV Tropes for good reason. Honorable Mention 3. Man, this must have been HORRIFYING without context in a theater. Still, one of the best deliveries of the message I've ever seen. Chickens are some of my favorite animals and those tiny cages that most still live in make me so sad. Honorable Mention 4. Yeah, this is another one I have had legit nightmares over. I think Chadtronic has this in one of his Cursed Commercials videos and screamed like immediately. Same. Honorable Mention 5. This makes me sick to my stomach. Honorable Mention 6. It's horrifying to behold, but everything you said is cracking me up lol. 1. ...yeah, I guess that Haven spot is no longer the scariest thing I have ever seen. On #74; the puppeteers were most likely locals and not the Fraggle Rock crew, their voices are too different. You can *maybe* hear a bit of Dave Goelz (Boober/Matt) in the dealer, but that's a bit of a stretch.

56 is fridge horror for me because it’s obviously scary watching a little kid die, suffocating in her sleep due to an asthma attack, and it was all brought on by simply having a plush bunny in her bed. And then you get to thinking about how common asthma is, and how just about everyone has plush toys in their bed as a kid…how many real kids IRL are winding up like Lucy here? And of course the alternative is unpleasant, but if not sleeping with a plushie could have saved Lucy, her parents would probably absolutely kick themselves when they found out what happened. And in between that of course is the fact that Lucy died alone in the middle of the night, so her parents are gonna try to get her up in the morning only to find her lifeless little body…ugh.

1:10:25 I despise the kid in this PSA. I would never do something like Bestiality because despite not knowing what it is (and I don’t want to know so please no one tell me in the comment section, I’m only a teen) and the fact this kid does it, WITH HIS GODDAMN DOG makes, in movie standards, Turbo look like The Peanuts Movie, and it makes Brave Look like Toy Story. The good Dinosaur? More like the Super Mario Bros Movie! (The 2023 one)

Look Tuv explaining what happened with pictures from the PSA because he didn’t want someone reviewing his video was all I needed, because as of right now, I REFUSE to watch this. I’m have seen shootings on TV because my mom watches a bunch of crime shows like NCIS and Hawaii Five-O, but this feels like a step way, WAY to far.

Greenpeace is so based…their psas are equally shocking but also effective and tasteful so it has that happy medium balance (my opinion). Also the onslaught dove psa I fell in love with their body confidence/body positivity campaign they did a while back since they’re one of the only hygiene/beauty brands to do that I thought it was really special. Lots of young girls and boys need to hear that message!

I've never seen that brain cancer one. I'm surprised I made it through. I could feel it in my bones. The girl sleeping in the hospital chair...I was there. Same stupid hospital chair, too. It was 3 AM. Dad beat his colon cancer but the treatment left him so weak he eventually passed of a massive infection...but I did lose an uncle to brain cancer. Highly aggressive... None of these PSAs affect me but that and this series of 'Life with Cancer is Still Life' ones absolutely stabbed me in the heart. It's very effective but god I would be absolutely wrecked if I saw that on TV...

Evidently newborn karakul lambs are slaughtered as evidently the wool color tends to change as they get older. Like within three days it changes...also Karakul sheep are highly adept at desert living, store fat in their bodies (especially their tails), have multiple wool coats and may have been raised since 1400 BC. The lamb pelts have been used for some traditional clothing but somehow got big in haute couture or whatever it is. I'm not sure why.

58 really gets to me,but at the same time a lot of fire safety psas get to me. 2 years ago my house caught fire and since the fire alarms broke,we couldn't tell until it already took out the upstairs. That event traumatized me,and looking at the remains of that house (which unfortunately i have to do everytime i visit my grandparents,as they live near my old hometown) i feel like the man in the end, crying at the loss of a home,of a place where you made memories,and although in my case no one died,the potential loss of loved ones Great list.

I guess I will try to comment on these 75: Quite sad. Normally, a chicken suit would be funny, but this time it isn't 74: Those child puppets are creepy too, I feel. Of course, considering how much I like practical effects creatures, I find this cool anyway 73: The minimalist nature still makes it creepy. This is like the Burger King Pokeball ad's descendant, and the voice-over of this PSA could fit in dystopian fiction...... 72: This one gets under my skin.......very sad 71: He looks like a serial killer. In any other words, here's hoping they don't come back with a new horror film about a guy who steals people's brains (if that already exists, I didn't know) 70: The fact that the whole thing is dead silent doesn't really help. This looks like a nightmare a child would have after learning this is a thing that can happen...... 69: Not going to lie, I thought that was a noose at the end, which shocked me even more. Of course, the actual explanation is arguably just as bad 68: I feel like the NSPCC is one of the scariest PSA or PIF companies ever. Mainly because even this one, one of their tamest, still leaves me just sitting quiet for a little bit 67: I feel like I'm watching an actual person getting tortured...... 66: Yuck! Also, another good case of evocative imagery achieving the same effect as the real deal (the previous spot was like this) 65: Brutal. The strong language helps its case, though I bet this would have raised issues if aired in the US instead of Australia 64: Oh hey, I brought this one up earlier. Either way, it's a fairly creepy and serious PSA that would come as a surprise to see. Supposedly, some versions had a loud beeping noise at the beginning, but I'm not sure if this is actually real 63: I remember one commenter pointing out how it seems almost every person who used the internet growing up was traumatized by it one way or the other, and this PSA fits that bill. I remember being upset that my mom banned me from KZbin for years as a kid because of a Ben 10: Protector of Earth video that had annotations with profanity, but in hindsight, that was for the better My memory about this was when I was looking up discussion about scary Pokemon music at 12-13, and I somehow got redirected to a site with some graphically NSFW imagery that grossed me out. Luckily, I didn't get a clear look at it before I left in repulsion 62: I remember this one. It's very cruel. And even the word "fur" at the end turns red, like the blood of dead things 61: What a nasty creep 60: Absolutely shocking. I heard it was considered too much for KZbin at first when Greenpeace uploaded it back in the day, though it did get re-uploaded. Still not as bad as "Antarctica" though....... 59: I was also thinking of Animal Crossing. Either way, this is like the PSA equivalent of those Courage the Cowardly Dog episodes where the monster is in a jarringly different visual style compared to the rest of the show, making the already creepy monster even worse 58: Sad. Almost cruel with the twist ending in this one (not as much as number 62 though) 57: Switching from animation to live-action can be an easy way to make horror. It reminds me of one SpongeBob episode that scared me as a kid, when it suddenly cuts to a live-action dried-up sponge and starfish 56: Good thing this PIF was rated PG by the BBFC, but it was still worrying (that, and some BBFC PGs are pretty violent in of themselves, such as Princess Mononoke or the classic era Doctor Who Story "The Brain of Morbius") 55: Pretty overwhelming presentation, too. Fits, though (also, Greenpeace's "parody" of this was freaky) 54: This was actually rated U by the BBFC, meaning it was considered acceptable for children. Now, I didn't grow up in the UK or in the 90's, but this would have been scary to me at 6 Will continue later

Part 2 53: Your interpretation is happier than mine. I always thought the dog just died at the end and the people were too late..... 52: Those sounds really made it creepy. It puts me on edge and makes me expect a jump scare 51: Simple, yet eerie 50: Disturbing and shocking, for sure 49: The room turning from welcoming to creepy from the candles going out is some powerful imagery 48: Shocking...... 47: This could be a horror movie concept...... 46: Particularly creepy 45: It still shocks me that this is a real commercial. It feels like a screamer video, and I can see why it supposedly got censored for later airings 44: This one is still tough for me. I was tensing up throughout, and even knowing the twist makes me do so before it is revealed. 43: Horrific. "No goods are stored inside, yet it isn't empty." Brr..... 42: This is another one I'm shocked aired on television. Goodness....... 41: I find these kinds of ones tough to watch. It freaks me out more than the gory scenes in the movie "Cube" 40: Creepy 39: Disturbing in general. Of course, that shot at the end where he comes back with whispering makes it worse 38: It's noteworthy how much more graphic Australian PSAs are than many other countries. The build-up made this one extra nasty though, the title itself was bad enough, and then when it slows down with the narrator coming in, I knew things would get gruesome 37: That was nasty. The laughing at first just made it awful. It also reminds me of a time where I was 8-9 and at a pool, and I said I wanted to swim across from one side to the other, and the guy who was in charge told me not to, because "[I] could come up short and skin [my] face." I was disgusted upon hearing that 36: "Crouch, don't bend over. You don't want to lose the food in your stomach." That part in particular is just shocking. I never saw it growing up (despite it airing when I was a kid), but it would have been shocking if I did 35: Yuck. I've seen people who found it funny, but it's too repulsive and disturbing for me to agree, especially since it's been proven that seeing such things when young can determine one's tastes. Another one I'm shocked made it onto television, even given it was the channel themselves airing it 34A: Practically a jump scare....... 34B: Upsetting to see that 34C: Brr...... 34D: I find this one disturbing too. I find eyes rolled back into the head hard to look at, thought I find eye horror tough in general, really 33: Scary. The fire one was especially horrific 32: I have trouble finding words to describe this. It just looks like something made to be shocking at first, and then it turns out more real than you thought. Combine this with that one Sandy Hook Promise PSA that tells you to take threats of violence seriously, and it's a nasty thing 31: It's probably not a good sign that a PIF with a gory headshot on a doll isn't one of the most horrific ones ever. I mean, it's not entirely convincing, but still...... Will continue later

Next part: 30: Gruesome and haunting. I'm a little surprised it was only a 15 certificate and not an 18 29: Shocking violent, especially compared to the more limited violence of British RSPCA adverts. Australia must have more lenient broadcast standards based on all its disturbing PSAs 28: It looks like they took a nightmare some guy on the company had and made it into a PSA. Even the previous ones didn't give me that feeling. Just shows how horrific this is 27: Never seen this one before. It's definitely creepy. Doesn't help that it took a while for me to figure out what was going on, so the "explosion" was a shock 26: Disturbing and shiver-inducing. The fact that the PSA actually swears makes it impact harder 25: Eerie. The almost "casual" way the whole PSA is presented makes it a bit more disturbing, almost like they didn't realize it would be so disturbing 24: Oh, I hadn't seen this one in years. It still hurts to watch :( 23: Haunting. The manner in which it builds up creates a nervous atmosphere, and that you know it will end horribly makes it even scarier. "Never meet your heroes" rings true 22: Horrific. Honestly, you could chop the ending segment out and it would still be disturbing 21: Good grief. The combination of the seemingly lighthearted music with just how graphic it is creates a disturbing combination 20: You know a PIF is scary when I get chills thinking about it...... 19: Ah yes, this one. Out of all PSAs or PIFs, this is the one that feels most like a nightmare adapted into a commercial. Well, this and the EIA Rhino PIF, but this one is probably scarier. Even the color scheme is ghoulish 18: When I hear the door opening at the end, I'm left in fear. Scariest American PSA? Unsure, but it's definitely in the top 5 17: A classic, and a horror to this day. Would not be surprised if this caused a controversy 16: It's hard to describe this. The cries of emotional agony at the end are tough to listen to Will continue in another comment

Now to continue 15: From the moment this PSA starts, something feels wrong. Of course, those feelings are exactly right. The brief shots of the body on the road are some of the goriest things I've seen in a PSA, almost on the level of a horror film 14: A classic. It doesn't horrify me as much anymore, but I'd never call it tame, oh no. That ending is brutal....... 13: Disturbing, to say the least. The noises are nasty 12: Certainly disturbing to watch. The fact that the advice wouldn't work, as stated, adds to the horror of the scenario 11: Nothing could describe this...... 10: Absolutely shocking. Might be one of the most upsetting PSAs ever made 9: Sickening. Impressive how they made the gruesome visuals less horrific than the audio 8: Cruel. The way the man looks at you in the end was somehow creepy. I also hope the girl actor wasn't traumatized in the production of it...... Will release the final part later

Now to finish: 7: Both of them are horrific. The second one is particularly alarming to me, with how the area isn't safe, but the first one shocks me with how it actually got a 12A rating from the BBFC 6: I was tense throughout. Just awful stuff 5: More nastiness, to say the least. The first and last ones were just gross..... 4: This was the first one on this list I couldn't get through all of. Well done 3: Horrific...... 2: Gruesome! The narration is quite chilling as well, making a horrific combo with the imagery HM 1: Sad HM 2: I remember my first exposure to this PSA was from a still image of the ending, and my mind made it worse by misconstruing the image as her hands having melted into her face..... HM 3: Creepy. But yeah, not much compared to other animal PSAs and PIFs HM 4: Scary. It would make it onto my list, for sure HM 5: Another one that would make it into my list. It's the most horrific......creature I've seen in a commercial HM 6: Honestly, the way the child almost starts crying in the song was creepy. But I honestly feel like this PSA would get more complaints than abject terror if shown nowadays, given the debate on the subject (something I'm not going into) 1: Well, that was sad. Probably the most emotionally devastating PSA ever made. It doesn't scare me as much as Number 4, but I still think it deserves the Number 1 spot, because it goes all out........

@1:12:30 as someone with 15+ years experience of drug use and who knows people who've used for over a half century, I utterly condemn the notion that drugs are like a suicide noose around your neck, and the inevitable (or even likely) result is "addiction" tightening around you. This hateful attitude is ironically used both to justify coercive treatment ("If you saw someone about to jump to their death, you'd save them even if they didn't want you to intervene") and to justify not helping people ("why give HIV/hepatitis treatment to a junkie? They're killing themselves with drugs anyway")

I remember as child in 1991 here in México the "the drugs destroy" PSAs, one I will never forget is a real scenario were forensics are taking a dead teen who was stabed in his neck by another teen and how the paramedic is telling rather emotionless how ended like that 😮

No one is sure. There were rumors about him dying back in 2011, and a few politicians in Eritrea claimed he died in prison. Based on what little we do know he was getting *some* sort of basic care, because at one point he was taken to a hospital...and evidently was officially released at one point just to be re-arrested later.

Hot take but with the Pokemon thing, I mostly blame the parent bc who would willingly give a toy like a pokemon ball to a literal baby, that is why people should pay attention to age restrictions for toys and games. And I believe you are a Dorset sheep tbh

This is something you wouldn’t really think about beeing a danger as most people are watching out for Toys being too small so they can be swallowed etc. I don’t think you can really blame the parents if you develop toys something like that just shouldn’t happen. As a parent you think if it was sold as safe toys for kids that they would be that. Especially if it’s your first child.

@@magicalpasta5462 But was the sign displayed that it’s not for children under 3? If yes then the Parents are definitely at fault (although I don’t think blaming them does anything but destroy them even more). But if not I think the company should definitely be blamed as if there is any possible hazard I think they should say that on the packing.
