You race around Meridian City with machine guns, mines, tank shells, missies, and even lasers. In single player, you can rewind time at the coast of boast. The next lists should be interesting, if you read any of this block of text, thanks for the hard work!

Thrill Drive instantly caught my eye: After doing research on it, I was shocked to find that it was an inspiration for the arcade car wrecking intensity of Burnout, with 1 in particular owing a lot to Thrill Drive. Not only that, but the game seems to be built around a message, but not a bad modern far-left political message, but a GOOD, MEANINGFUL, and NECESSARY one: Reckless Driving Wrecks Lives. If you just recklessly drive, you face no punishment, but if you end up causing an _accident..._ you ARE. In fact, if you drive responsibly, the music shifts to an angelic choir, representing that you've done the right thing. It's a genuinely fascinating idea for a racing game, even if its bleakness and concept lead it to be abandoned as a franchise. It really was an example of the mid-1990s to early-2010s being a wild west of creative ideas and unique, fun titles.

Hands down my favorite video yet. Thank you, Tats and crew! Edit: I'm honestly glad Thrill Drive made it as #3 and even though it was just an arcade game made by Konami, it really made you feel like your life was on the line as you sped across traffic and pedestrians. Hell, the rating system was definitely something else too so not only were people trying to get a high score, they were also dependent on how well their driving skills are in heavy traffic and reaction times as well as other things. It's a shame you don't get a lot of arcade racers like that anymore and it's also a shame Criterion hasn't made another Burnout game yet cause Thrill Drive was the main inspiration to what we have currently.

I was trying to find that arcade game back from my childhood and almost forgot about it. Good thing I found it on number 3! I don't know if it was another version of Thrill Drive though. The atmosphere it had was a little foggy and it was night time. I was really terrified because I remember it had blood effects whenever I crashed. I mostly drive the bus at that time lol.
@TatsTopVideos Жыл бұрын
Not sure on the game you are referencing. I know there is a similar game that may have blood in it, called Emergency Call Ambulance that has similar graphics and fast paced gameplay like Thrill Drive. Thrill Drive 2 when you crash you get the scream, and then the screen turns red. But no blood. Yeah when i was really young i remember Thrill Drive at a motorway station in the UK. Though this Thrill Drive, while still retaining the female scream, had a male one too. And the window glass would crack and shatter when you crash. Having played all versions, US, EU and Japan, I could not find the one I saw when i was young. The later Thrill Drives removed the horror and realism of the original. With Thrill Drive 4 being so bad it was never released outside of Japan. though there is footage of it online, and the gameplay looks like fast and furious meets Mario Kart.

I would like to give a shoutout to another driving game, while not horror is more of a dark comedy: Blind Drive A game in which you play as Donny, a man who is driving a car on the opposite site of the road, this wouldn't be a problem if wasn't by the fact he's chained handcuffed behind the wheel with a car with no brakes and having a blindfold on his face, so he (or you on this case) has to hear the obstacles coming to avoid them, that includes vehicules, loud music from the radio, bees, cops, armed hillbillys and dolphis (it makes sense in context), is a short game in which you can finish it in 2 hours but it will be most caothic 2 hours you will experience

Holy shit Tats. I have a history with what I just found out is Zombie Virus. As a kid, I usually went to the mall at the end of the week to buy PS2 games with my dad, and always used to get them solely based on the cover (didn't buy this one, unfortunately. Maybe it was too scary). I thought for so long that I had a fever dream where I dreamed of this fictional horror game where you drive an ambulance through an apocalypse (, there was more to it, not only zombies and an alaskan bull worm monster, if i remember right.). Turns out I didn't and it was half-real, I simply forgot about it. A few times I've tried to find it but I must've thought it didn't look familiar enough. Turns out the game I blocked out of my memory for being 'too scary' was just a shitty Crazy Taxi clone made by D3 Publisher for their Simple 2000 series game. At least we got EDF and onechanbara out of that. No idea how it took this long for me to find it since it's the first thing that comes up when you search for ps2 ambulance horror game, lol
