I have lived here since 69 and if anyone wants to leave I will be more than happy to help. We live in the tropics in the summer. If you don’t like it go away.

Thank you for the very informative video. I think living in, what I call"paradise", is worth putting up with many of the issues you both mentioned. When I'm bored, or sick or happy, no matter what's going on in my day, the beauty of the beach, warmth, birds singing, waves in the back ground, somehow it just cheers me up, brings peace and joy to my soul. I call it, living in the " get away" moment! Thank you for being so real on your video's, even the negative is so helpful to becoming a happy for life client. I appreciate that so much from you both. It helps me know I can trust you both to really help me make a wise decision when relocating. I know your not afraid to tell me the truths. Keep the great informative video's coming I for one appreciate them very much.😊

Leaving? I’m moving to Venice. I live next to the ocean in Plymouth Ma. It’s pretty darn expensive, but more than that, it’s cold, cloudy and I just can’t stand it anymore. I feel like I live in black n white colors. I want to live in beautiful colors with tropical 🌴 I love the heat. I lived in Naples for 9 months so the heat is what I miss! I like to sweat, feels good 😊 unless you’re on your way into work lol

This was super informative in a more down to earth way! I am considering that area because my brother lives in Englewood. I would be moving from Oregon, and he sends me lots of KZbin videos on the areas along the west coast of FL. I have never been to Florida, so I plan on flying down to visit first.

Heat is fine not much different than where I live now. Affordability of housing is a problem. We may end up there but for now will spend time there off and on.

Thanks for the insights on our beloved community. Secret's definitely out and we're partially to blame. As far as insurance goes, we lucked out buying a well built, post 2005 home with upgraded structural features. Our insurance increase was modest compared to what I've been hearing. Regarding Wellen Park, even with the River Road expansion and local WP shopping, 41's going to be horrible. Heat? Sweating's good for you. My wife hates it but works around it. The people, beaches and outdoor activities are great. New sub. Please find better music 😜

I have been stressing for months since my insurance company requested pics of proof I fixed my house since Ian. They even mentioned a "chimney flute" & I don't have a chimney?! My house was built in 1973 & made it through the tornado in 1985. My AC guy noticed my beams in my attic, so obviously my phone was built well. I almost had a heart attack when I opened my homeowner renewal..$1,628!! 😮 I'm waiting for a "mistake" too good to be true! My insurance agent is awesome! Last year he told me about the "3rd nail" for older homes. Literally a "3rd nail" in my attic to secure the roof to the structure since they didn't have hurricane clips or whatever back then. I paid almost 1k & it dropped my premium 1k! I've literally been paying double my insurance all these years!

Compared to California, $4,000 covers a $1,090,000 two house property in a high value area by the Rose Bowl. So yes, sounds like Florida Insurance is high for properties that are under $500K

Mis-information... Wellen Park is North Port Not Venice.. Folks need to be educated as the expansion is not in Venice.. The truth is Venice like Sarasota is landlocked as far as new housing.. No room left to build.. So you like others need to get your facts correct.

I heard it's very common to have mold on trusses on new construction. Is that true? It freaked me out when my home inspector found mold on trusses. He wasn't surprised tho'.

The worst thing that happened to southwest Florida was when the people from the northeast learned they could make a right off of 95. it has become overcrowded, overpriced, rude, and self-serving. It was never like that.

So many of her comments were contradictory and quite relativistic . OMG, you should see my home town in WA state, its nothing like it used to be. And the same can be said for the entire Seattle Metro area. But you might think its great if you are coming from LA, SF or NYC

Yes, but it is much more North Port than Venice. The mailing address boundaries are quite misleading. I have an Englewood zipcode, and yet thats only due to a weird "notch". I clearly am living in South Venice.

Realistically all of Florida cannot sustain the excessive growth. Florida was a pristine natural habitat... disappearing rapidly.

All of FL is like this regarding construction. FL is going to break off from the rest of the continent and sink one day. We already have a ton of sink holes, especially in the middle of the state.
