Nicely done! Quick question tho, what makes unexpected dai better than sowing?

Unexpected Dai is a straight up special summon for Loci, and starts your combo. While Sowing is the spell that you add through the Link 1 that completes your Sunavalon route (since you're gonna special summon Sunseed Twin from the deck) and then go for Therion and then Rikka 😊

I play blackwing at a competitive level and I have to say it doesn’t fall short against other meta decks (even tho my version is very odd). Only problems are labyrinth (beatable but quite hard) and … plants 😭

Cactus Bouncer requires a normal summon to properly use it. You can't expect to have Unexpected Dai on every hand to normal summon Cactus after completing your board, sadly 😢

Long time Rikka player, and just wanted to discuss ratios. First off, as you said Twin made you brick in a ton of games and we all know this, but I have had a lot of success playing 2 twin 1 sowing, since drawing one wont turn off your sowing summon, and hard drawing sowing as always isnt the end of the world since u still get to combo. As you said though, in the grind game i can see it coming up, but maybe in the side? Secondly, playing two mudan two konkon seems absurd to me. Konkon helps you combo on bad hands, thru handtraps, is your endboard, and also board breaking? Whenever I activate Konkon my opponent immediately has to come up with a response before losing their board as cost, which is why playing 3 + terraforming always felt so strong to me, since the tribute for cost isnt even hard once and if one gets negated you can get to another pretty easily. Same thing for mudan since it converts into konkon which converts into a spell search regardless while also doubling as a broken boardbreaking if you already have konkon up (compared to something like snowdrop which requires you to have another plant to summon) apart from that I like the list, but I encourage everyone to try the sunavalon link 4, since benghalancer feels really underwhelming and really not strong especially in a format where bouncing a Kash monster is literally useless

Good decision removing it since on resolution you get Drolled after you use it. The 1st priority should always be Sowing to at least play around it 😊

Cool list. But idk, I think playing plants at a clean 40 is amazing. The deck performs phenomenal at 40 cards, you also have so much room for non-engine, no need to go over 40. Obviously brick density is something to consider but theres certain cards you absolutely need to see, so the risk for seeing bricks vs cards you need to see is worth it at 40 cards. I don't think 2 Lily is enough, even been experimenting with Rose Paladin or Rose Bell of Revelation (still unsure about it, but I do love being insulated far more consistently), because if you don't open Lily you walk head first into every single handtrap in the entire game of Yugioh. Feels bad and hurts a lot. Yes there are ways to open self-insulating hands through engine (ie. Dai + Petal, to name one), but those hands are statistically lower than just opening Lily/RP + starter. Ash on Sowing = ow. Nibiru = ow. Imperm/Mourner/Veiler on Dryas = ow (although not as bad), fingers crossed you drew the stones to play through it (statistically less likely). Droll = big ow, unless you somehow drew a god tier hand. So maybe you're just always opening the stones, maybe the planets just align for you, idk. Statistically 6 normal summons is mathematically perfect at decks running 45-49 cards. 40-44 you need only 5 NS. Therefore, 3 Loci + 3 Petal + 1 Lonefire is 1 too many at 45 cards. Math is math, cut 1 Petal. Obviously, I mean no offense, these are just my opinions from experience over the years with Plant Link. Would love to hear your thoughts! Congrats on making top 8 at Worlds!

It's still ok to have 6-7 summons, having 3 petal ensures that you have better grind game since Petal can be special summoned on the opponent's turn (and if it gets negated, hard drawing it isn't so bad either). Although it may sound bad, the deck itself doesn't really have that much space: mostly 30-33 cards are for the 3 Engines, and the other cards are Handtraps or Board Breakers. I have a 45 cards deck list too, and it works really well 😊 having 40 cards sure is good, but you won't have enough space for non engine pieces, and Therion is extremely good in this deck to be removed 😊

@@Dygenguar 1) Reread my first comment, it appears it requires a reread 2) We are all aware of how Rikka Petal functions, thats not the point 3) 6-7 Normal Summons for a 40-44 card deck is objectively still bad, mathematics/statistics is based on pure logic, that should be self-explanatory 4) the deck does objectively have lots of space for non-engine, if you're running 30-33 cards for engine, you're actually running too many cards 5) You can run this deck at a clean 40 cards with all 3 engines and enough non-engine, I would recommend reviewing competitive deckbuilding theory (for example, Jesse Kotton has some excellent insight, to name one) Remember to build your decks from logic, try not to netdeck.
