My first stay at Navarre Beach 3 yrs ago was amazing, not my first time on the gulf coast but it definitely made me want to start looking at moving down (from Missouri). The attractions were wonderful and the people there were even better. Would love to learn more about moving down in that area.

I know right? I started going to the Panhandle to visit Pensacola and love Pcola, however, during my travels I went through Navarre and absolutely felt a certain way there. I can't explain it but Navarre caught my heart for sure! I've been coming to Navarre now for the 8 years and have been thinking of moving down away from my home in Lexington KY.

I visited Navarre Beach in the year 2000. I remember walking into the water over my knees and I noticed cheerio shaped sand with a hole in the center. I didn't know if a clam or just what was under the water. It sort of bothered me as I didn't want to step on the wrong thing and injure my foot. Otherwise, it was a very beautiful beach. The best white sand that I've ever seen. Wonderful people on the island. The lady at the Tom Thumb was cool and told me what drinks that I could take out on the beach (no glass). I had Mahi Mahi at one of the restaurants where they were playing volleyball outdoors. What a place! Unforgettable!

Is it always that rough in front of Juana's? Or is their a chance the water smoothes sometimes and the kids can swim?
@LifeOnTheEmeraldCoast Жыл бұрын
When we shot this video it was right after a hurricane and the waters hadn't called down yet. It is generally really calm in the sound (the water in front of jaunas is called the sound). So yes, it's normally really smooth and less choppy.
@aaronhome273 жыл бұрын
Need to remake this when it actually resembles what Navarre normally looks like. Why shoot a promo for a place right after a hurricane..... Lol
@LifeOnTheEmeraldCoast3 жыл бұрын
It's on our list to reshoot, part of it was for exactly what you're seeing. We are fully transparent here and I would prefer people see all sides of the area, not just the best side of each town. Think of it less like a promo video and more like an honest look at each area in all it's glory, good and bad. I honestly do appreciate the feedback though, every opinion helps us shape how we should move forward!
@amyd13013 жыл бұрын
My comment is a little late lol but I'm moving there in the next year and am happy to see what I have to look forward to. I myself fear the hurricanes and will be having a hurricane fund set up to leave town in advance but I hope to develop some desire to stick around for the smaller ones. But it is nice to see what we would be coming back to each time :-)
@LifeOnTheEmeraldCoast3 жыл бұрын
@@amyd1301 just saw this, for some reason KZbin didn't notify me! Yes hurricanes can be a bit nerving but all on all, they are kind of fun, it's amazing what mother nature does, so long as that doesn't include destroying things!

Thank you so much for this video. We've been visiting Okaloosa Island for the past 6 consecutive years but condo rent will be ridiculously high next year, so we're going to Navarre instead. We like the less crowded area of Okaloosa Island, but traffic still gets pretty bad at Ft. Walton. How is traffic at Navarre around 2nd week of August?
@LifeOnTheEmeraldCoast2 жыл бұрын
Mid-august it's actually not too bad, our schools start here the first week of August, and by then a lot of the tourism has slowed down a little bit.

Oh and one more thing, the splash pad in the main Navarre Park was redone and it is pretty nice. Can you rent fishing equipment on the pier to go fishing? If not, is there somewhere else to rent fishing equipment?
@LifeOnTheEmeraldCoast2 жыл бұрын
Great question, I have never rented equipment personally but the pier does offer everything you need to include a one day (or seasonal) fishing pass, 8 dollars for adults, and a rod is 25 for a large rod or 20 dollars for a short rod. They also have bait and tackle, snacks, drinks etc

The Welcome Center playground looked like the opening scene of Terminator - and why highlight the splash pad when it's dry and covered in leaves?? Nice effort I suppose, but not sure you did Navarre any good.
@LifeOnTheEmeraldCoast3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment Von. We almost neglected putting this out on the channel since Hurricane Sally had just come through but ultimately decided that showcasing off the ALL the good AND the bad when it comes to this area was what we were going to do. I don't think painting the perfect picture that this area is without it's downfalls is appropriate for people thinking of moving to this area - it wouldn't sit on my conscious very well if someone made a life changing decision to move here and they didn't have a full picture of the good, bad and the ugly we can see from time to time. BUT that being said, we do plan to shoot a similar video soon to show what it looks like after everything is cleaned up, especially now since they revamped that entire area you are mentioning.

Hi Andrew great video and very helpful! My girlfriend and I are considering visiting Navarre from May 1st thru May 7th or 8th. It will be her 50th so this is a big deal. How is the weather in Navarre during that time of year? Is it warm enough to get sun and swim in the ocean? Thanks!
@LifeOnTheEmeraldCoast3 жыл бұрын
In May the weather should be nice and warm, the sweet spot actually generally around 73 to 88 degrees, it's humid heat so depending on where you are coming from it might feel more muggy than you are eused to 🙂
@MisterWub3 жыл бұрын
@@LifeOnTheEmeraldCoast Thanks for the reply. We would be coming in from Southern California, so yes it would feel more muggy but that's what we want. Muggy makes us want to go swimming. And I would imagine the water should be warm enough too around that time?
@LifeOnTheEmeraldCoast3 жыл бұрын
Yes generally for me personally and this is all personal of course I don't generally like to get in the water until the outside temperature is at least 80 I could bear to get in it when it's around 75 but I don't enjoy it it feels too cold to enjoy. Hey @vkhiev if you are a Fl resident than you would not need a License if you are fishing from a structure fixed on land, like a pier, bridge, dock, jetty, etc (not a boat). If you are not a Fl Resident you would still need to get a valid pier saltwater fishing license as I understand it.
