In Were-Rabbit, I loved the very subtle joke about Lady T's RP Accent. They're on the phone and she's insisting he come help. He says "We'll be there in an AHHHHHH" because he's pulled away from the phone and Lady T responds "An ahhhhhh? I can't wait an ahhhhh!" (Thinking he said "hour" in her accent.)

The humour of Wallace of Gromit is just great, and the adult jokes are the cherry on top. That “someone arson around” line, alongside a lot of the stuff in Curse of the Were-Rabbit, are some of the best comedy lines ever written.

One of the many gags in Were-Rabbit that cracked me up was the vegetarian Jurassic Park reference, when the half-eaten carrot lands on top of the car! Most Aardman films are full of subtle move references, but that one is especially good.

Plus the name on the carrot, 'Harvey', references the 1950 film of the same name; a story of a man and his best friend, a pretend giant 6ft rabbit.

I would watch Curse Of the Were Rabbit non stop as a kid, out of all the W+G films it was my all time favorite. I remember rewatching it in my adult teen years and was in tears (the good kind) at the dirty jokes that went over my 10 year old head. The boob joke made me do a double take and laugh 😂

you forgot in The Wrong Trousers when they are locked in a wardrobe. Gromit starts to fiddle with the control panel on the techno trousers which is near enough to Wallace's...crown jewels. More of a reference this one, but in Curse of the Were-Rabbit when Gromit turns on the radio in the Anti-Pesto van waiting for Wallace, Bright Eyes by Simon and Garfunkel starts playing, which was from Watership Down (1977), which is another animated movie about rabbits. Also couldn’t agree more that the jokes in Wallace and Gromit are brilliantly clever.

As an oblivious American, I assume that most of these adult jokes (especially the “bag of…” one) might’ve been somewhat easier to bypass the family friendly guidelines… But considering that The Curse of the Wererabbit was a collaboration with Dreamworks, an animation company from the US, probably known for how stupidly sensitive we are when it comes to “vulgar” content (and other things, but those are different topics), all I can say is… “How the heck did those bypass the US family friendly standards?!”

John 3:16-21 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. Mark 1.15 15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel. 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. Hebrews 11:6 6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Jesus

The humor of all the Aardvark productions is just so awesome including the double entrants and play on words more aimed to adults. It is a classic thing going back to the cartoons of the 1930's to the 1960's like in Bugs Bunny and others where adult ideas are mixed with ones ok for children.
