Everyone extends the front ends of those jeeps, nobody ballsy enough to pick the front wheels off the ground and drive it wheels up until 2nd gear. When my dad used to launch you could read "goodyear" on the front tires as it went by.

@@BustedKnuckleVideo Ok. Well my old man cleaned those extended jeeps and roadster's clocks constantly with standard CJ-5 wheelbase. (multiple ISDA points championships in comp mod B) I saw another video where they're not only extending the front end, but also the rear. Ugly as sin, but they were really damn fast and always had the front end down. Definitely removes the pucker factor of 80s sand drag racing.

All the sand flys behind the car and such speed there is no time for the sand to get inside. There are also metal flaps over the exhaust pipes so sand can’t get inside when the dragster is going slow
