As a complete beginner (I have two Tilly and the buttons patterns that I’ve not been brave enough to use yet!), I always find these sort of videos super useful as I wouldn’t have a clue what fabric to use etc! Thank you - really enjoyed it 😀

I've just bought my first sewing machine, I did take sewing lesson's back in the day... but believe me that was half a century ago! 😂 I needed a new hobby for the winter months, and you're never too old to learn a new skil, rightl? My first projects are going to be straight lines... cushion covers sound easy! But, I think these patterns don't seem too challenging? Thank you for pointing a total beginner in the right direction. I'm feeling excited already, can't wait to start making something I can wear 😄

How exciting Mary! Cushion covers & tote bags are a great place to start and then yes these patterns are a great next step! Happy sewing!

I love the Coco pattern and the fit was so accurate that I went and turned it into a shift with an a-line. I have two SOI patterns and have had to make fit adjustments. The bicep definitely and also found the bodice too short. That meant I had to change the dart position also. Once you get a well fitted bodice, it is such a great jumping off point for making different design elements and that is so encouraging for sewing.

Thank you so much, I really really enjoyed watching this. Even though I’m not a beginner to sewing 🧵. I’ve subscribed and given you a thumbs up 👍 too. Please stay safe and well too

Really enjoyed our vlog. I’ve been sewing for ages but still enjoyed hearing your take on quick and easy patterns. Bought some of that lovely viscose for the Ultimate shift Dress pattern from you. I don’t live so far from Woking (I think that’s where you are) as I’m in south west London so will try and come to the event!

Great vlog. 💕Just to mention that your sound track was a different speed to you speaking. It speeded up! The only thing about the shift dress is the sleeve issue as it is very tight across the back. This was the first SOI pattern I used and for such a simple make I was amazed that the sleeves were so difficult to fit. Since then I’ve redrafted the sleeve and added5/8 to back seam. I must tell my goddaughter to watch this as she’s just starting out and there were some good patterns.🤗💕

Yes! My sound was messed up, too. Sounded like she was underwater, very gurgly, and a little off her lips moving. Still love her vlogs, though.

Sorry about the sound, I don’t know what happened on this one 🙈

Great video and lovely kits. Do you have any suggestions/kits for plus size beginner sewists? All of the patterns shown would be too small for me.

Thank you, am watching you from Australia. Am a beginner sewer, and wondering which is best sewing machines. And is an overlocker necessary. Will be making mostly shorts, for my new business, and to sell on-line via web site. Regards.
@dianeshelton95925 жыл бұрын
Seeing for myself, no I loathe my overlocker, seems possessed by evil spirits, and will use ever other means at my disposal to finish off seams. For selling garments I think you will need to master your overlocker, do a course.

I want to do a Luminous dress for a concert on my own, and I am going for dark blue fiber optic fabric. Can that be included in your kit and how much do they range from in USDs because I'm all the way in Oklahoma (Galaxy) because KISS are coming to OKC for their End of the Road world Tour. So I'm going there with a dress that's inspired by the Spaceman, Tommy Thayer!
@Sewisfaction5 жыл бұрын
Wow! I’m afraid I’ve not come across any fibre optic fabric but I hope you find some as it sounds amazing!
