At Marshalls I just found XX Artisan for $30 125ml and it has the best longevity in my collection but JV Platinum is still my overall fav from the Brand as I have 3 backups before discontinuation.

I like the line. You really get a lot for the affordability. Artisan Blue is definitely my favorite so far, but I'm curious to try the Teal. I like the sparseness of the webbing as it allows the teal color to come through.

These are nice scents, I have quite a few of them. I don't really reach for them that often as they tend to be a bit weak on the performance side. If you plan on going out for 2-3 hours, they're perfect. Otherwise, there are better options for you.

I have several JV and love a few but dislike some. FAVES: 1. Vintage (Easily #1) and most complimented 2. Original (Leather jacket and oranges... love it!) 3. Blu (Spring in a Bottle) 4. Rebel (Rugged and pure man... My Wife's favorite!) 5. Artisan (Summer Night at Beach) DISLIKE: 1. Pure (Synthetic laundry detergent) 2. Rider (Sour note ruins it) 3. Aqua (Boring generic and lasts 5 minutes)

Hey since you seem to be an expert do you by any chance know who makes colognes like these sonce the manufacturere doesnt make them any more? they are still on sale on sites like ebay and amazon, who makes the bottles and all the mixing work? how is it possible that these can still be original and for sale I wonder?

Some fragrances have been created and sold in large batches to distributors all over the world. Not all sell! They then get resold to smaller resellers. Sometimes, they pop up months or even years later. Of course, if the fragrance is popular, more batches are created, and all too often, the black market (fakes) will appear to get a piece of the action. Not as likely with the smaller brands like Varvatos. Therefore, be careful when buying a fragrance that has actually been discontinued, as the top notes could have gone bad. I own John Varvatos Artisan / Artisan Blu /Artisan Pure Artisant is OK but not spectacular. Fruity chords are clearly in focus here and also a slight spiciness, which is okay. It's enough for in-between times or a quick sip, I don't use it for anything else. In my opinion, it's the weakest Artisant I have Artisant Blu, I love it. This scent is pure summer freshness and smells simply great. Aquatic chords are clearly in focus here, as are floral notes. Very clean. The biggest criticism of Blu is that it unfortunately disappears very quickly. That's such a shame!!! If Blu had the longevity of Artisant Pure, it would be my number 1. Artisant Pure, I love it too. Also an incredibly great summer scent that reminds you a bit of a beach bar, Caribbean / Florida vibse. Less aquatic than Blu, it has a bit more sweetness in it without being too kitschy. I don't generally like sweet scents, but Artisant Pure has a bit of a, how should I describe it,... rum note... caramelized sugar might be even better and a hint of coconut and some fruity notes, lemon,... yes but maybe also pineapple. As I said, Artisant Pure has a light pleasant sweetness in it that is not intrusive. As I said, my first thought with Artisant Pure is beach bar, Caribbean vibse! Currently my favourite John Varvatos summer fragrance I'm going to get the XX Artisant Trail now because I used to really like wearing Acqua di Giò pour Homme and would like to have something similar in my collection.
