By finals night, those judges have seen the show at least a half dozen times, so, by then, he already knew how to maneuver it so he could get in front of the line as much as possible - it was completely intentional

Okay, the drum judges are ridiculous. How in the world can he possibly do any meaningful listening and critiquing with all of that sprinting, bobbing and weaving? Not to mention what if he tripped and caused a major pile up? No fair. There needs to be a rule against that.

hturt4 there is now! The downside is that drum judges aren’t allowed on the field (or can only be a few feet in, I forget what the exact rule is), so I’m sure this would have an effect on what the judges can hear.
