Fun Fact : The commentator that Korbin is imitating and appreciating in the end is actually one of the most feared legendary fast bolwers of his era. Michael Holding also known as "Whispering Death" due to his silent run-up before his dangerous fast delivery.

The Caribbean voice in the commentary. That is Michael Holding the elegendary West Indies fast bowler aka The Wispering Death. He was one of the pack of the greatest WI fast bowlers when they ruled world cricket in the 70's and 80's along with Andy Roberts. Joel Garner, Colin Croft and the GREATEST of them all. Malcolm Marshall.

You are spot on RickSegall about the difference between baseball and cricket. In baseball the batsman needs to closely look at the release, the swing (lateral movement of the ball in the air) and the speed of the ball. In cricket the batsman needs to closely look at the release, the swing (lateral movement of the ball in the air), the speed and the spin (turn after the ball pitches on the ground) of the ball which makes it more dangerous and complicated. Check out the fast bowling of the 80s West Indies team. Most of them not only uprooted the sticks(or stumps) but they used to frequently break the sticks via sheer pace. Batsmen then were terrorized by these West Indian fast legends. The bowlers in this video are kids in front of them.

These bolds were shortlisted because they make certain movements when they hit the ground, every batsman made correct placement of bat according to the ball, but when the ball bounced, it changed its direction, some remained low some went high bounced, you have to watch it very carefully

A lot of things affect how the ball is going to behave once it leaves bowler’s hand or after it bounces, for example, moisture in the pitch (pitch is the ground between bowler and the batsman), hardness of the pitch, overcast conditions, cracks on the pitch (pitch develops cracks and imperfections as the game continues).

True, a rare game, where the results and score are also depending on weather conditions, like moisture, rain, dew etc type of pitch, excluding players performances

That is why winning the toss is important in cricket, because the winner has a choice to bat or ball first and the winner make that decision based on the pitch conditions amongst other criteria.

When you get Bowled it means the ball passed by you and destroys the stumps. NOT a Strike, the batter is OUT! Why did it look so slow? Because Spin bowlers do bowl much slower than the Pace bowlers. They try to bamboozle you with the spin. I am looking forward to seeing you guys face some bowlers in a future video. lol I am sure someone in the subs can organise a day of cricket for you.

when u play a 5 day match… u hv to be alert in every ball… the batsman would hv defended the ball for around 50 times and the 51st time, when he loses a little focus, such wickets fall… thats why some of it here looks like the batsman is lazy but they are not… its just the 5 day format which is insane competition
@gauthamvadlamudi3500

There are multiple layers to it, There is a movement to the ball in the air (both vertical and horizontal movement) before it hits the ground and a different movement (both vertical and horizontal movement) to it after it hits the ground. The batsman has to first look at the release and then judge where the ball pitches (ground contact point), and shift their gaze from looking at the bowler to that location on the ground where they anticipate the ball pitches. Also the timing is another important thing, which has to be anticipated during the ball release... as it dictates the pace of the ball. Here also the ball will have different trajectories after the release where it can swing, spin, move in the air due to that, by having a curved trajectory before hitting the ground which totally changes where it will hit the ground, (batsman has to judge that). And the spin, orientation, speed, just before hitting the ground and titching location on the ground of the ball itself all of them determine where the ball will go after bouncing off the ground. Also, after the ball pitches (hits the ground), the timing can change drastically (sometimes ball goes in a curved path, and sometimes it goes straight after bouncing, which changes the timing drastically as the bouncing point is very close, generally just 12-33 feet before the batsman. So the timing when released and altered timing after bouncing both are crucial to get right to hit a ball properly. Also, the ball's height when it reaches the batsman after bouncing can be totally different from almost 1 feet above the ground to near the head of the batsman. The horizontal movement of the ball can also be drastically , ranging from few millimeters to width of the bat to almost 3-4 feet if not more. Batsman has to anticipate this and adjust his arm position, and footwork based on that before swinging. Parallelelly based on the pitching location on the ground, short, medium, long, Yorker, batsman has to commit to his leg work (front foot, backfoot, sideways footwork etc) before swinging.... Simultaneously, there is all probability that bowler may deliver a full toss ( ball comes directly to the batsman without hitting the ground) which turns the entire thing upside down. Here batsman has to anticipate the full toss and decide the foot work (generally backfoot), and start to swing earlier based on the ball moment by judging the release, as the ball timing is faster. Then based on all these batsman has to then decide and commit his swing anticipating where the ball will go, and commit to a shot selection instinctively and swing. Simultaneously, based on the ball swing, batsman even while swinging can correct his wrist position, because the bat shape is not symmetrical and the angle of the bat also effects the shot/hit, based on where he wants to direct the ball on the field based on the fielder placement around ( preferably the gaps). The batsman also has to be aware of the keeper's position behind him, to anticipate the bowler strategy, and any possibilities of stumping, catch etc.... All this has to be done while being aware of where the wickets are, which is crucial for LBW ( blocking the ball with batsman's body part which could've hit the wickets if not blocked by the batsman's body) and batsman should also be aware of the wickets as one of the main tasks is to protect the wickets. Also, batsman has to protect his own body as well, while doing all these, as the ball can go anywhere and it can hit batsman's body, cause an injury and still be legal. Obviously behind all these, the strategy, the guessing game of which type of ball, length, bowler will choose, based on the previous balls, etc are all going at the back of the head of batsman. Ofc, the batsman has to go for unorthodox shots sometimes to outsmart the bowler who is expecting some textbook shot for a particular type of ball... to avoid the fielders or hit boundaries etc Similarly the bowler also is continuously trying to outsmart the batsman by varying grip, release, release point, speed of the ball, spin, swinging of the ball, bowling side (around or over the wicket), length of the delivery (how far the ball travels before hitting the ground), pitching point on the ground, and outsmarting, bluffing, guesswork, mind games with the batsman about where the ball will finally go (ball movement after bouncing)

It ought to be 'clean-bowled' wickets...' The dash connects the two words either side of it but is increasingly forgotten about these days in most usages. Clean-bowled really just means it hit the wicket without any deflections off bat or body (or used to, anyway). Some of those balls stayed very low after bouncing, which with any lateral movement at 80-90 mph, gives the batsman virtually no chance at all.

@saptakroy5938
@saptakroy5938 2 жыл бұрын
I guess you may know what a Test match is. If not, here is a brief idea. Test match cricket is the most classic form of cricket and it's duration is 5 days. The match may end before that period but not more. Each day is divided into 3 sessions. 1st session then lunch break, 2nd session then tea break, and then the 3rd session and the game ends for the day. The literal meaning of bowled you all know. But in cricket if someone says he is clean bowled that means the bowler hits the stumps directly without the batsman even touching the ball, which you guys watched here. Korbin - silly point is a fielding position. You may have an idea from Kai Po Che where sushant was explaining the boy all the fielding postions on the board.

These were not, by any stretch of imagination, the 'Best Bowleds' in cricket. These were all in England, 90% of them were by England bowlers only, all of them were after the year 2000. This video is, without a shadow of a doubt, created by some England fanatic. None of these even comes close to bowleds by Malcom Marshall, Michael Holding (the commentator Korbin was imitating), Kapil Dev, Imran Khan, Jeff Thomsan, Denis Lillee, Ian Botham, Richard Hadlee, Curtly Ambrose, Courtney Walsh, Allan Donald, Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis (exponent of Banana Swing), Glenn McGrath (one of the bowlers in the above video), Javagal Srinath and many more during the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s.
