Btw, Stalwart Lion is amazing tank companion because it helps to keep the aggro because all the dmg gathered as radiant dmg goes to owners threat meter :)

for buff, drizz is the best in my opinion, cos is 3% all the time. Dont need any other conditions, just summoned..

There's also Energon, he can raise your AP after a combat. Anyway, i would say that companions can be a huge amount of more damage, they can be about 20% of an endgame dps. Band of air is 10-12 just to have a comparison

That's a nice list of companions. I was one of those 100 that managed to get Zariel as a companion during Redeemed Citadel and I can only say that this is such wasted potential... now that I look at her at mythic it's like having a limited edition toy you never use again and only can show others and let them know that you have her. As far as I can tell, her "debuff" lasts about 5 seconds and is active only if she is not interrupted during casting swordfall ability which is the same one from the trial and casting time alone is about 3 seconds... during this time mobs are usually dead or she is stunned. I really wish companions weren't such a major part of this game. I'd be perfectly happy eliminating mounts and companions. Give back buffing to players. I'm willing to bet I'm alone on this, though. lol

No I agree with you. After aragon's video yesterday, the price of the succubus went up to 20 million on Xbox. There will always be a bis companion, and if you aren't quick, or already have it, then you will not be able to put out as much if you can't afford it. Shouldn't this be about skill and how good you are at your rotation and not who has the most ad and zen?

I wouldn't eliminate them, I'd just look at the game from a more holistic position of not allowing any one thing to be so massive a bonus that you NEED to chase it rather than anything else. Companions and Mounts already provide a massive amount of stats, and IL. Demanding they ALSO do up to 20% of your overall damage is demanding a flat +25% Damage Bonus... that's just stupid. The problem with a game like Neverwinter is that when they DO introduce "Long Chase" items like the Collars and Mythic Insignia, because a few really top end players get them quickly, everyone else feels like THEY need them NOW. That's why everyone demands to know what is the "Best" of everything so that they aren't "wasting their time and effort" on stuff that is probably just as useful for their "substantially LESS than end game" characters. Thereby assuming that having a Xuna on their 43K Toon will make them the dogs bollocks in the revised Demo Trial. "OH what? NO... Xuna's not best any more... THAT must be the reason I keep wiping... tell me what to buy NOW!!!"

Hey my mate, I need your opinion about companions for my fighter dps (between cca 55-57 current total Item Level depending on used gear). Please answer when you'll have time because I'm still struggling with which ones to use in active slots and mod 22 coming soon on PS4. My stats without buffs are for power: cca. 49 to 50000 (85% total), accuracy 50-51000 (59%), Combat Advant. from 52 to 53000 (63% total), Critic. from over 52 to over 54000 (cca. 52% to 54%), Crit.Severity cca. 50000 (Total is around 62% and higher). Summoned comp. is Succubus and I'm ok with that but everything else not sure. In active slots I keep; 1.) defense slot: Spider, 2.) Offense: Batiri, 3.) universal slot: Neverwinter knight, 4.) Universal: Lion, Utility slot: Alpha Compy ,because still need boost for power. SHOULD I SWITCH TO SOMETHING ELSE? ...just for example SHOULD I USE ALCHEMIST, DRAKE ASSASSIN or HAWK for higher stats OR SOMETHING LIKE Netherese Warlock for extra more 7,5% damage against enemies that are not ficing you???🤔 I still didn't upgrade all insignias to mythic. My total item level is from 55,754 to 56,500 and base damage is from 6,690 to 7,189 depending am I using mirage & masterwork weapons. Should I kick out Lion or something else? I know this is a little late but have you tested rebel mercenary at all. It's not amazing but it is very cheap and could be decent for newer players. Just wondering. Keep up all the great content!

No love for Regis as a buffing companion!? ...he gives +3% party cooldown reduction...I know it's difficult to test and will affect different classes differently, but definitely worth a mention, especially as he gets a good wrap on your AoE companion video!

Drizzt is group only to receive the dmg buff. Lion is whoever is nearby when he roars to receive radiant weapon stacks.

What about Etrien adding 1k Power and 1k Critical Strike to all allies, which is on almost constantly during combat? Also, I have Zariel and she is garbage, unfortunately.

Probably good at lower IL groups, but most end game groups will have Capped Power on DPS, certainly the Base Score, if not the +% and a full 90 overall... so it's really only the Crit that will help some people as far as damage is concerned. Healers don't need to worry about CA or Accuracy that much so will probably have their Crit Base Score capped... If it were +1% on both rather than +1000 points, now that would be interesting as a Group Buff.

doesn't drizzt give thebonus to party members? wouldn't that leave you outside the buff making running 2 drizzt the only way to get everyone with an extra 3% dmg?

I think it would be different in the real combat,I believe spined devil is like the redcap which has a charge and then he does the stuff.I want to say that its not the best in action,but anyways ita great for buffing.Keep up the great job!

At this point it might be in our best interest to have content creators like Aragon hasten the dev's push to nerf everything so we don't waste time improving comps only to have them nerfed. We can't stop them, so we might as well make it go faster. We just have to hold back on purchasing comps until the devs are done mucking about.
