Top Destinations In Kamakura: Meigetsu-in Temple - Don't Miss It!

Hi friends, for our first Enoden series, I will take you to Meigetsu-in or Ajisai dera in Kita-Kamakura. This is one of the top destinations here in Kita-Kamakura in early summer. It is a hidden gem- you will see beautiful purple hydrangeas! (Ajisai in Japanese ), really good for day trips in Kamakura,Japan.
You can go here from Yokohama to Ofuna station then transfer to JR then go to Kita- Kamakura station (one stop from Ofuna)from the staion -it is a 10 minutes’ walk from Kita-Kamakura station.
Ticket: 500 yen for adults
300 for elementary students - Junior high school students.
*Wear comfy clothes and shoes.

In spring, Meigetsu-in is famous for its plum fruit, while in autumn we can enjoy the beautiful leaves which turn reddish. Apart from flowers, it turns out that Meigetsu-in is also famous for 'Meigetsu-in Yagura'. Yagura is a burial place that we often find in Kamakura. This cemetery has a unique characteristic, namely that it is located in a hole in the cliff walls. In this cemetery, samurai and monks or people who were considered to have high strata in their time were buried. Beautiful Place. Thanks for sharing. Happy Sunday.
