Fascinating. I'm familiar with the British Ordinance survey but I've seen nothing like this. Wish the USGS had something comparable for US civil use. Great content. More, please.

Interesting! I don't see why not I couldn't do it for Americans. All I would need to make the least cost paths would be elevation data (DTM) presumably the Indians would have done something similar to find the easiest routes and during your Civil War each side would have taken the easiest route to transport cannons.

@@WestCountryClegg The U.S. is a big market for this of content. Not just detecting. We have so much open space in the highly accessible SW states. And civil war buffs are voracious consumers of factual, original content. Pair up with Green Mountain guy. Keep going!

That is Norfolk Craig. Yes the run off from the farmland drainage has silted up estuaries and rivers. Colchester silted up so the Romans moved the Business trading and port to London which had a bigger faster flowing river. The amount of silt is amazing even in the Thames. Norfolk was once a series of islands and the Wash went almost to Cambridge. I was at a village in Norfolk that had a beach once but is now miles inland due to silting up.
