HiCleggy, those ashes that you take out of the fireplace are so good for the garden, just like in the forest when there’s a burn all the ashes goes into the ground so good for the Earth! CHEERS😊😅😅

Your log pile continues to build up, and the bushes and trees won't miss those leaning against them. Bee hotels are a great idea.

I live close to this area, and know it like the back of my hand. The hoard was maybe loot from a recorded raid by the welsh. The area to look is towards the "castle" previously a fortified town from the hoard field, but to be honest, you could travel much further the other way towards wales as the angle from that attack as it does point towards wales, imo once it was mostly moorlands nearer the castle but theres a few trackways from both points. A point to note is that detectorists are fighting over these fields to get the rights for them.

Fantastic idea with the bee & bug breeding hotels. I tie mine up with either gardening metal ties (Poundland do rolls of it) or I use paracord (can buy from army surplus stores, perhaps if you tell them what you want it for they may even have some off cuts you could have) I buy mine by the metre and really good price. Either way will last years but the paracord you need to melt the endings to make it easier the thread and tie off. Make sure you put the hotels at various heights along the fence as different varieties like to nest at different heights. Your fire looked brilliant.

well done Cleggy. best of luck the only thing really good about wood where i live is that there is a horrendous amount available. most of it is hot rapid burning like Cedar, fir hemlock pine etc but plenty available especially if you have a gas powered sae and it is not - 20 C. and it all needs to sit for a year at least.

Yay well done Craig 😊 I used to do exactly what your doing! It’s was fabulous. I had a forest 100 yards away from our house so loads and loads of available wood 🪵 it saved a fortune on fuel bills! Now I’ve moved and have gas and electric 😏 Good for you cleggy 😂🎄🌲🍺🍻🍺🍻 The bug hotel are a great idea 💡Craig to clean the inside of your fire glass we used paper kitchen rolled in a ball and dip it a couple of times into the cold ash then clean all the dark residue off, it works a treat 😊

Yes the programme is quite addictive. You could set up least cost paths between known Indian encampments and American Civil War battlefields because they would have had to of had level ground to transport the cannons

Hi Craig, Someone well known to detectorists said the Staffordshire hoard was likely excavated soil from HS2! So if you can’t work out why the hoard is there that might be an answer! 😊
@WestCountryClegg3 күн бұрын
Sorry mate but, the Staffordshire hoard was found 11 years before they started work on HS2

Love the video! So many questions? I hope you don’t mind. Are you local to the Sodburys? As I have seen a few recognisable places in your videos I think 🤔 Can we do that as the public? Ie. go and get logs from walks like anywhere? (Sorry if I am naive) Do you season the logs before burning? If so how long for? And I love your voice it tickles my mind 🥰 do you teach or share your knowledge in survival or bush craft anywhere else? (even informally) Keep up the great work!

I gained permission from the local council to-do this and I guess you would have to do the same. but picking up the odd branch that's fallen off a tree should be fine I think
