I am prepping for my Disney trip in DECEMBER!!! It’s so long away but I am bringing all 5 of my kids age 14 months, 4 years old, 7 year old twins and my 11 year old! What we like to do is keep a sticker chart for like a month before and when they do something good they get a star- 5 stars equal 2 dollars then depending how many dollars they get they get to spend it at the Disney store in Disneyland!

My daughter is 11 and what I do is have a small gift bag for each day. Has a whole outfit from Target or Wal-Mart, maybe matching shoes, a Disney Jewelry item or sunglasses, and a small toy or item like a pencil and eraser set. She still gets excited to open them everyday and see what is in them. This will be or first WDW trip coming up and I plan on doing the same thing.

A hack that my mom always does: use a pill bottle/medicine bottle and put some laundry pods in there. And fill a ziploc with dryer sheets and coins. Perfect for doing laundry! I know doing laundry on vacation isn't fun but we usually have a down morning once during the trip and we do this while getting breakfast at the resort. Especially when we got soaked last June at AK! It helped to get laundry done. And disney has a laundry website so you can see how many machines are available at the resort/time left, etc.

We leave $1 per person in the room, per day. I usually round up to make it easy, so $5 per day when staying at the resorts. For characters.... well that is a tougher one because it really depends on which character it is, what kind of mood the girls are in (lol), and what kind of vibe I'm getting from the character or attendant. Some of them I let the girls interact and have a chat, other times I have to kind of "wrap them up" because I can tell they are trying to move people through. I try not to interrupt those "special moments" that happen, but my girls would stay and talk to the characters indefinitely... so I do have to do my "wrap it up" routine most often, lol. ;)

Dry snacks can also be packed in a suitcase - I always pack goldfish, powdered donuts, fruit snacks, granola bars, etc in a cardboard shoebox in the corner of the suitcase. At the end of the trip I can throw the shoebox out and use that extra space on the way home for souvenirs! (or pack souvenirs in the box if the extra protection is needed)

I love the Magic Ink books...thanks to you years ago! YES! I always use post it notes for Hailey, just turned 6, & she hates the "flush by themself" potty ;) I love the Disney math! Each morning I take a small ziplock bag and place a dry washcloth in it and add ice. As the ice slowly melts it provides a nice cool washcloth for sticky fingers or in my case as an older adult with no children. It provides a nice cool cloth to wipe your face / neck / arms during the heat of the day.

beingmommywithstyle yes steps went like this... convince dh to move next trip from fall 2016 to May 2016 so daughter doesn't need tickets since she's just shy of 3, convince husband to go on trip just short of a year later then last trip, explain to husband that annual pass will be cheaper then two trips worth of tickets, buy annual pass, convince husband to take a short December trip between those two trips because hey we have the passes... good ol Disney math!

You can also get free cups of ice water at any kiosk with drinks! Just go up and ask and they will give you some. It saves tons of money since bottled water is so expensive!

They have half gallon igloo water jugs. I carry two, one for adults and one for our kids. We fill with ice and water. I carry lemonade or kook-aid squeeze flavored packs and we don’t need to buy drinks anymore. We do buy sodas when we are actually sitting for a meal. Also I know this is silly but…. I remember my mom made my 5 yr old brother wear a diaper. Why? Well kids have small bladders and they are not really good at telling you ahead of time that they have to go pee. So I will be doing this for my daughter who does not wear diapers anymore and my 5 yr old son. Sometimes you are almost near to board the ride and daddy had to run with the child to the bathroom. If they dont pee in the diaper then that even better but you atleast have that security.

I forgot my mommy hook a month ago when we went to Disneyworld I was lost without it! If you go twice a year I highly recommend joining DVC! We joined last year and it's been wonderful to be able to stay in very nice deluxe hotels. We only bought enough points to stay in studios twice a year but as our girls get older we want to add more points to get the 1 bedroom villa or 2 bedroom villa. DVC also gets discounted annual passes we pay 2,000 a year for unlimited visits except during some block out timed but we don't go Dior g spring break or Christmas week anyways. We get a 20% discount on merchandise and some tours. The last two times we've gone we've gotten to see moana and cars 3 before it hit theaters! They also have special previews for new areas like pandora before the public gets to see it. They also have special member cruises where you can get a ton of free stuff on! Great video btw!

I'm not a mom yet hehe I'm expecting at the moment. My husband and I go to Disney once a year but we didn't last year because we instead went to visit family at a different state. My husband had said that he was considering on booking a trip in the late winter anyway because we both missed Disney so much but then we found out we are expecting and going when I'm pregnant does't sound very fun for me only because I haven't felt really good BUT my husband and I are planning on going when our little one is around 1 year and a half or so. I'm not even half way through the pregnancy but I'm looking at so many Disney videos about talking little ones to Disney and what is needed. We were at CBR before any construction started. I am in multiple groups where people are traveling there right now while it is going on, and it is noticeable because some things are closed, but not super interruptive to their trips. Hope that helps! :)

Caryn Canatella if you are staying on property leave in the middle of the day when it is super hot and do nap time, if not staying on property at MK we use the hall of presidents for nap time it's inside and the show is quiet and long enough that you can get a good nap in.

Beth Yarbrough I totally agree and our kids are 15 and up. We get there at rope drop, then leave in the mid afternoon and go back to the hotel when it’s hot and crowded, then after resting, swimming, we head back for evening fun. That break does wonders!

TheWild'sDisneyFamily they have a plug for Android & iPhones so it fits 99% of the phones out there. They can be charged with the USB cord as well just like any other charger. Buy them anywhere else than Disney and you will save. They can be swapped for a fully charged one anywhere they have a vending machine including many airports g all over Disney.

So i havent seen anyone mention this but a money saving tip that i have is don't use the bellhop. Carry your bags to your room if you can. I was told once that it was complementary but then was later charged $50 to my card.

Larissa Ann There is no charge for bell services at Disney Resorts. . If someone added a charge to my card, I’d question it immediately and have it removed. It is customary to tip a few dollars to bell services. Most tip $1 a bag. I usually tip $5 for two adults.
