Thanks so much for making this compilation; excellent video quality! (I can't stand watching old footage where they over-saturate the colors so it looks like everything is radioactive! You know what I mean?)

pretty stuff. And yeah, they don't drop volley lots of shots, but those shots are coming at them pretty hard with lots of action. Try to drop volley such, and if you make a tiny mistake, you left it at mid court where you will be killed. If you can't win the shot, then better to get it back deep. Watch the pros, like Bhupathi, Paes, Mike Brian, etc. They volley deep too, when they can't make a winning drop volley. This is a compilation of top points. These guys are all good, (real good) but they aren't making shots like that every shot.

I never understood how collegiate level tennis players can chip the ball over two guys coming at the net, they refuse to do it.

This along with the fact that the men play best of 5 in grand slams and bring in much larger crowds.. people who claim it was sexist to pay men more were insane. After seeing so many grueling 5 set matches of packed arenas and incredible lightning fast powerful tennis, and then seeing the female winner get paid the same amount as the male winner. It blows my mind. I remember when Good morning america or whatever show it was bullied John McEnroe and called him a sexist pig essentially who wished serena had a difficult pregnancy just bc he stated she’d be maybe #700 on the men’s tour (she’d be even lower) after he was asked by an NPR host.

He’s blocking the service box down the T
@xiaoling43203 жыл бұрын
@@thelee3105 It's alright. If the ball hits him it'd be considered a volley, and the point begins. If the ball lands down the T they'd be out of position. So its completely fine.
@xiaoling43203 жыл бұрын
@@thelee3105 I'm pretty sure the reason he's blocking the T is the angle for the server won't allow him to hit a proper down the T serve, so the ball's gonna go to the receiver anyways.

i must say, REALLY nice players! these guys are silky smooth, powerful and consistent, which is a great combination. i can see why they would be very hard to beat! now, for my pet peeve. still, even these advanced players seem to go out of their way sometimes to volley the ball back deep enough to be convenient for the other team... that kind of thing is always both sad and funny to see - an inability, maybe, to escape conventional thinking. a top pro, of course, would have put the first volley away with a sharp/short angle. the additional four (proficient) volleys in this video wouldn't have been necessary.

These players dont know the meaning of an drop volley or at least experimenting with angles on the volley. Instead its just push volley back at the guy who just hit it to you until they mess up and allow you for a smash.
@adityasarang5755 Жыл бұрын
It's about playing smart tennis and that's exactly how you should play. Just watch the pros. They may occasionally hit a drop volley but most of the time you keep deflecting the ball back, aka Volley and then when you get a high ball or an easy smash, kill it. Speaking from experience, not at this level though, hitting drop volley or cute shots mostly doesn't win you matches, just boosts your ego !
