Also, and not to leave too many comments here, you can get the t5 galaxy at level 61 and then get an upgrade token. It's not going to be quite as good as the fleet t6 version, but still good, and then you could use your modules on a different ship. If you were the kind of person looking to maybe have a couple different ships.

When a new style comes, all things look copied or referenced, but it's just that, in the tide of an era, all artists and designers get influenced and grown up in the same spirit, so designs look extremely similar.

I've been considering getting the Orion Blackguard for my Orion Engi Tank toon, but considering the design I'd feel quite awkward not equipping it with top notch canon setup and that would be a hassle for me. I think I'll stick with my An'quat for now (too bad they don't have a fleet version).
@CounterYoloGaming
@CounterYoloGaming 6 жыл бұрын
The An'quat is actually one of the starships from the C-Store (as well as all T6 event starships) that comes already at its "fleet" stats version; because of this, there is no fleet version of it available. That starship is as strong as the other typical fleet starships in the game -- so don't worry too much about it, it's a strong ship and a good broadsiding tank for KDF players.

I have no substantive thoughts that I haven't already shared with you in the comments section of the History Will Remember video about 2 months ago. When I write something that detailed, I tend to remember for a while... I still recommend trying out the Fleet Tellarite Pralim first if you haven't already as it can provide most of what the Vengeance can for tanking -- especially as you can earn 2 Fleet T6 starships worth of fleet modules per character now (however, its looks are quite different and aren't for everyone). Other than that, the adjustment from the Dreadnought to the Vengeance won't be that drastic as they are both larger starships in the game.

Your video states the Fleet Andromeda has a 1.65 hull ratio. The wiki says 1.466. Anyway, the in-game shipyards say it has 66,000 hp. The fleet Narendra has a 1.485 ratio, with 66,825 hp. And it also has the attract fire command. I'd call the Narendra a cruiser, instead of a science ship.

We have several categories for starships that can perform well using science/exotic-type damage in the game: science vessels, science dreadnoughts, science spearheads, scout ships, science carriers, and support cruisers. Outside of science spearheads (the most unbalanced/overpowered starship in the entire game), each have their own inherent strengths and weaknesses -- with support cruisers being a starship with strong science capacity with regular cruiser commands (which is better for tanking in the game). The T6 Fleet Narendra is actually the ship my Romulan Science Captain uses for her science exotic/torpedo tanking build in the game, and it works better than all of the other existing science vessels in the game for tanking in almost all circumstances (with a few notable C-Store exclusive science/support cruisers that can be situationally better than this one). Is it ideal for science DPS? No. Is it great for science-oriented tanking? YES. When my video on that build comes out later this month, I will go into depth as to why it works so well and how command: attract fire assists with that. I do understand the confusion for support cruisers, as it appears that the developers don't even fully understand the meaning of those starships inside of the game and how rare but AWESOME they actually are (and the sad fact that the KDF only get ONE in their whole starship roster...). Even though the stats would have you assume the Narendra would work well for beam tanking, I personally can't recommend the Narendra as Molecular Reconstruction's defensive configuration (the only viable one for a beam tank, as the offensive configuration is for energy DPS and hurts tanking and the support configuration is for exotic damage) lowers its turn rate by 20% (which its 7 base turn rate **-20%** is less than 6, the turn rate I consider the minimum for a beam tank in the game to reasonably broadside). You would have to just not use molecular reconstruction at all on the ship to have it be useful as a tank. As for the Fleet Andromeda, the ratio I was using in the video was the last one that I had tested in-game during VIL. It's possible the developers changed the ratio scaling since the launch of AOD to make it less tanky to promote the more recently released starships. Thank you for bringing that to my attention -- I will need to test the ship out again to verify that the text from the shipyard is accurate (they have been inaccurate on several ships in the past...).

@@stofsk Great question! For your standard science vessels & scout ships with low hull ratios, a resonating secondary deflector or the solanae secondary deflector are almost a must have for added healing/survivability (as you need A LOT of that on those ships). If you use a science dreadnought or science spearhead, you have enough hull that you can be more offensive with your secondary deflector if you so choose. Support cruisers, instead of a secondary deflector, have command: attract fire on their ships that help supplement most of their loss in science DPS with extra threat generation -- so that the overall threat generation between them and a traditional science starship oriented toward tanking is comparable. You definitely need either a secondary deflector or command: attract fire if you want to use a ship for science tanking. If a starship is EVER released in the future that just so happens to have BOTH of these on its ship, it will automatically become the best science tank in the entire game.

Watching this video, it's a shame that so many of the great tanking ships are "fleet quality out of the box" and therefore don't have fleet versions, like the flagships, command battlecruisers (which have attract fire and are basically FDC also), the Chronos, etc. I'm surprised you put the support cruiser on the "science" list. I suppose because of the temporal seating, but still a decent tank even if you don't go for the science stuff.
@kenduxbury7122
@kenduxbury7122 5 жыл бұрын
COMPLETELY disagree in regards to the Narendra not being an ideal beam tank. If there's one thing the Fleet Narendra does well, its survive and draw aggro in ANY build...including a beam/decent dps tank. I know, I have one. In fact, the only "flaw" (if you want to call it that...I've never had a problem running 3 tac Boffs and staying alive in Advanced+ content) is the either too heavy tac or too heavy eng, depending on how you like to build it, which some people have whined about (without merit). Highest base hull in the game (among other things) lets that beauty take a pounding, and dish it all right back out.

Science ships are GREAT for tanking, though they are quite weak vs the Vaadwaur & the Tzenkethi due to the mechanics of how those NPC's work and the mechanics you have to use as a science tank. I do have Discord, but am not on there that much to be honest (weekly at best right now). Keep in mind though that **if** you choose to invite me, any builds or strategies that are discussed are free game to be talked about on this channel. If you really want me in your Discord chat, send the invite link to my channel email (counteryologaming@gmail.com).

CounterYolo Gaming that is interesting, I generally stick with the way things are (TAC dps, ENG tank, & SCI buff/debuff), so this is something that I will have change up with some of my other toons. I’ll send you the invite to our discord. We talk about builds so everything is fair game. Mostly it’s dps related, so seeing someone like yourself who talks about tanking builds, etc is a nice bit of fresh air.

No fleet. There are some fleets out here that are user, you do the work to build up your fleet. And there controlling..not for me
@CounterYoloGaming
@CounterYoloGaming 6 жыл бұрын
If fleets aren't to your liking or too much effort for you, there are a few great T5 starships with free T5U upgrades on them available on the exchange that are quite viable at the endgame for less than 10 million credits (that are still earnable with reasonable grinding in the game). Voth Bastion for a cruiser, Tholian Meshweaver for a science vessel, & Undine Bioship for an escort. There are fleets that are controlling, I agree, but there are also fleets like mine that are more laid back and supportive of its members. If all you want is a ship, there are fleets willing to let you join temporarily with a little contributions to get one and then depart amicably.
@gausssto570
@gausssto570 6 жыл бұрын
@@CounterYoloGaming You're thinking of the Orb Weaver for the Tholian science vessel, the Meshweaver is the escort. Also, I wholeheartedly agree with the bastion recommendation. It's dirt cheap, just save up some dill, buy zen, buy a master key, sell for 4m, and that's almost enough to buy it. Almost certainly faster than grinding the fleet modules.
