F-5E was the simplest and least capable of three Iranian fighters employed in the war against Iraq. But Iranians didn't spare them and in the first phase of this conflict, F-5Es flew many deep strike missions against Iraqi targets. Some of them were able to successfully fight Iraqi airplanes and the leading F-5 pilot was Yadolah Sharifirad. On day 65 of the war, he flew a two-ship mission against an Iraqi observation post. At one moment, he thought he had come under AAA fire. When turning his head to check on his wingman, there was a very unpleasant surprise - an Iraqi MiG-21 attacking him with his gun.

Thank you for this very positive feedback! Falklands War videos are a bit delayed because Razbam (the South Atlantic map developer) didn't also release most of the naval assets they had announced earlier. Hopefully, they will do it in the future because videos would be better with proper ships being shown instead of approximations.

Probably the most interesting element of this conflict was what Iranian pilots had to go through. They found themselves between a hostile domestic regime and an external enemy to whom many of them actually owed their lives as they were waiting for the shooting squad when the war started.

Why we don’t see any victory for the iraqi airforce against Iran or Us is it because they operate Soviet jet fighters even though they are too many
@showtime112
@showtime112 Жыл бұрын
Not strictly true, there is a video about Operation Giraffe where Iraqi Mirages shot down F-14s. There will be some more videos about Mirages in action for sure. As for others, info is a bit hard to find and main types flown by Iraqis such as MiG-23, MiG-25 or Su-22 are not available as flyable modules in DCS. Some of that might be done in War Thunder in the future. If you have some good sources about Iraqi MiG-21s in action, I would like to hear it.

@@showtime112 i have seen stories about the Iraqi mig 29 against the F15 You didn’t hear the story from the other side actually the was victory during the gulf war one for Mig25 against F18 sSuper hornet the second for mig 29 against US F15 would you tell me who is Michael Scott Speicher and how did he died ?
@showtime112
@showtime112 Жыл бұрын
@@iraqirestoration2991 The story of Scott Speicher is pretty well known, the only admitted air-to-air loss of the Coalition during the 1991 Gulf War. And it wasn't a Super Hornet but legacy Hornet. I didn't do this story for two reasons. First, we don't have a proper MiG-25 in DCS or any other simulation. Second, Dash99er has already done that story and repeating usually doesn't bring much result.

@@showtime112 a proper mig 25 oh come on man ! Here is another story from a third side it could be interesting for you, reported by Yefim Gordon and Dmitriy Komissarov in their book Mikoyan MiG-29 & MiG-35, according to Iraqi sources, on Jan. 19, 1991 an Iraqi Air Force (IrAF) MiG-29 flown by Capt. Jameel Sayhood shot down a Royal Air Force/No.31 Squadron Panavia Tornado GR.1A strike aircraft (ZA467/’EK’, c/n BS097/283/3133) with an R-60 AAM. The Tornado was making a low level bombing attack on the Ar-Rutbah air defence radar site; the crew, pilot Squadron Leader G.K.S. Lennox and navigator Squadron Leader K. P. Weeks, did not eject and were killed.

@@iraqirestoration2991 I can't do much more for the Scott Speicher story than what Dash99er already did. Not for the moment, at least. I am also familiar with the Tornado story, I think that it is officially listed as shot down by an unknown reason. That was on my 'to do' list but it looks like a good idea to make in the near future. There's one more story, the only F-14 shot down in 1991. Officially by a SAM but there are indications that it might have been a MiG-25 pilot. Do you know anything about that?

I would very much like that. Sadly, there's a problem with F-14 module in DCS. The replay track always breaks which makes the production of these videos very hard. I'll try another free trial on the module to see if anything has changed.
