They tried, the attack didn't get within 25miles of the carrier. The missile was fired outside its maximum range to hit the carrier, and the two remaining Skyhawks never got near it either.

The Bf-109 E-1, E-3 and E-4s of this period were superior to the Hurricane in most respects. Speed wise the advantage wasn’t very much just 20 mph but the Hurricane had a maneuverability advantage and that was what allowed it to hang in a fight with the Messerschmidt.

This wasn't a mistake, it was a premeditated murder and an act of absolute cowardice, and total unprofessional and personal character on part of the Indian pilot. Scoring a kill on Pakistanis even if that meant bringing down an unarmed aircraft during peacetime inside of Pakistani territory and committing to an established act of irresponsible behavior followed Indian Pakistani war during 1999 during which a lot of Indian soldiers much over a thousand lost their lives, including two of their fighter aircraft shot down by Pakistani Army airdef. According to the information that I have ascertained from indian sources the Pakistanis to this day hold 5 of the top peaks for which both sides were fighting. One of them was given up during the war. Two decades later both sides clashed again, in the air, Mig 21s scrambled against attacking Pakistani combat envelope. It was quick work made out of a Mig 21, and a confirmed kill earlier on during the fighting on an SU-30 MKI by the Pakistanis. Unlike what many Pakistanis believe to be their JF-17, both indian planes were shot down by two different F-16s with their Aim 120Cs. The Indians pile on their narratives even the false ones that they efficiently build for propaganda purposes and I have heard quite a few Indians questioning the claim of their own Air force regarding the 2019 battle. The Pakistanis instead choose to remain quiet, just like the Chinese. So taking the whole 2019 clash apart frame by frame, I believe that Pakistanis could have taken out a total of at least six Indian aircraft, but they didnt. The intention was to give a message not to rain hell.

During the closing days of the 1971 war on the subcon a subsonic Korean war American F86 Saber of the Pakistani Air force took out a Mig 21 of the indian air force, the Mig then being a state-of-the-art aircraft. Migs have more combat losses than gains, the last to go down that path was again during a bvr engagement between these two nations on February 27th 2019. The Indian claim of taking out a Pakistani F-16, with the same Mig before it went down, at best became an entertainig thing to hear of than any real information of value. We were particularly concerned, but following the visit of our personnel to Pakistani air arm bases was far reassuring than the propaganda from the Indian side about their victory against the F-16. Also examination of the wreckage of MiG-21 that had fallen to the Pakistan territory brought greater clarity since not a single bullet had been fired out of that aircraft or any missile launched.

For all the negitive publicity, the mig 21 bison was a really solid and in the right hands a deadly machine . my uncle flew these .only flaw was it was terribly unforgiving of any mistake either pilot error or maintainence issue !! so to incorporate non russian technology into it (the usual indian habit of "jugad") was a tricky stuff and thats probably caused so many crashes during its tenure.

I’ve already posted this on Patreon but it’s worth explaining Richey’s story further again here. Richey had reported coming under attack by two MS406 fighters and was distinctly unimpressed with their efforts. After losing them he got lost and being without maps and down to 20 gallons of fuel, he landed at the first airfield he saw which was Joinville. Here he found that a jubilant 406 pilot had called the airfield by phone instructing them to go and search for and capture the 'German' pilot he had just 'shot down' When advised that his German was an RAF Hurricane, the single word that came in response was, 'Merde!' The French treated Richie with great cordiality and invited the French pilot to come to Joinville and meet his captured 'enemy’. When he turned up, he was told that not only was it a Hurricane he'd attacked but the pilot was wounded ~ Richey receiving fake dressings and bandages to enhance the story. Cue exceedingly embarrassed French pilot. Whoever thought the art of pranking was a new thing? All was smoothed over with several drinks, during which the French pilot admitted he'd fired off at least 400 bullets and 40 cannon shells at Richey to no avail. Apparently, he was considered to be one of the top French pilots! A few weeks later Richey met the pilot’s CO who told him the French pilot had been confined to his station for a week. 'Not so much for attacking you ~ as for missing!' I thoroughly recommend Richey’s books, ‘Fighter Pilot’ and the later expanded version, ‘Fighter Pilot’s Summer.’

I do not believe... I was in Angola myself in 1989-1993... as part of a group of specialists, which was called the "international contingent of the Soviet Union's military aid." These pictures, alas, are the products of computer imagination and nothing else! Do you all think that local guys were sitting in the cockpit?! I have more than two dozen photo reports from "hight speed-frames camers" on the effectiveness of collisions in the air... and there were not only MiG-21s, but also Mig-23s and even Mig-29s (but later)!

Cubans clearly confirm this. It is relatively rare for such a battle that both sides agree upon what happened. Usually, there's some dispute about the outcome but not here. But no, there's always someone who says 'this sounds fishy'. Of course, they never bother to check the specific thing, they just have some general idea and think that each individual part must be the same as the whole. German aces had the highest scores of all the countries of WW2? Impossible! I know for a fact that Germany lost 😁

Miss Anastasia showed old photographs of her grandfather, awarded the "Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves", in the company of Hermann Graf (squadron commander of JG-52), Walter Krupinski, Wilhelm Batz, Erich Hartmann,... So, say I was born 20 years ago and that I’ve never heard of or knew anything about the war in Angola until watching this video and reading the comments today; my natural reaction would be to assume that South Africa had won the war, right? @ apparently you are capable of articulating yourself somehow; I’m sure you are smart enough which is why I’m astounded by the fact that you were not able to decipher the meaning of my words as it were. I was simply pointing to the fact that your entire presentation was completely one sided. Which is not in itself a bad thing so long as you don’t try to hide behind a veil of impartiality. I mean after all THE OTHER SIDE WANT. But I don’t blame you. I’m sure I would have a hard time admitting it too. And if you don’t mind my asking, where in my little writing did you read that I was Cuban or Angolan or what my ideology was? You should know what they say about assuming…

thank you for your effort with this beautiful game animations however there are some big holes here in this story.. -It was shown in this video how MIG-25 does some dogfight maneuvers, this is far from truth as MIG-25 had very limited maneuverability due to being a pure Interceptor made for chasing supersonic US bombers, at high speeds and at very high altitudes -missile which was used in downing of the Speicher F-18 was most probably R-24T variant, not R, T stands for heat seeking or Thermal , R is Radar guided variant of the same missile. There is a very little chance Speicher F-18 not got alerted that he was locked by radar and missile fired upon him. He got probably other plane sneake from a high altitude ambush from behind, as this R-24T missiles were very old and cannot lock on target if fired in a head-on engagement but only in a tail-chase aspect. -those missiles had warhead with almost 100kg of explosive because they were made primarily for disabling and shooting down large air targets as bombers, so when this F-18 was hit there was no "spiraling down and etc.." it was vaporized instantly in the air. Hopefully this explains more about the entire story, cheers and nice joystick by the way 😍

- The fact that MiG-25 was poor at maneuvering doesn't mean it couldn't maneuver at all. Even Boeing 747 can maneuver, just not very well 😁 'Spock' Anderson clearly says he did a couple of circles with the MiG-25 and I believe him. There was another battle with F-15s led by 'Kluso' Tollini vs MIG-25s, where the MiGs also 'maneuvered'. But not nearly well enough to beat the Eagles. - Dawoud says the missile he fired was the radar version. - There is very clear evidence of Speicher ejecting. Also, bedouins found his body and buried it. Had the F-18 been 'vaporized' how could they have done that? I think there are some big holes in your arguments 😁

Many years ago, I read the Book "Fighter Pilot", the memories of Paul Richey, from No. 1 Squadron on the Battle of France. So for me was great to see animated what I've read, those anecdotes of Richey being shot at by the French Pilot, and that of boy "Boy" Mould shooting down the Dornier. Since the war was something new there were stories around moments of combat before it all became a very grim routine. Richey after his "fight", landed in a French airfield and the comrades of the Morane pilot who shot at him pranked his friend covering Richey in bandages. When the French pilot arrived and was told Richey was badly hurt, he became very sad and concerned. Richey couldn't hold no more the charade seeing the state his colleague was, so stood up, and both became friends getting quite drunk that night. Latter on an officer told Richey his colleague was grounded after the incident "for missing". On the Mould anecdote with the Dornier, it was something sadder and darker. Since it was first British aereal victory of the war, he was taken to the crash site and looked inside the wreckage. Five hands was all that remained of the crew. It was for the British pilot a taste early on of what war really meant, and something that haunted him for a long time.

The Vampire was obsolete in WW2, a Me 262 equipped with Junkers Jumo 004 engines made with Tungsten and Titanium etc components would have nailed a Vampire……look at its aerodynamics, it was out of date from year zero.
