I got some Tomato frogs early this year and I love them to death!! They 100% belong on this list.

Love this! Thank you so much for making this and all the information!!! You are amazing. This was exactly what I was looking for. My 16 year old son wants a frog. And i am fine with that but wanted a way to help him understand he needs to research some and understand the care involved and to understand about different options of frogs available. He never would have listened to his mom. Lol. Sent him this vid to watch and he got it!!! Loved it. Sparked the interest in him to research more. Has inspired him to want to create the best habitat ever for his soon new pet frog ❤️.

I fell in love with Whites Tree frogs after seeing how fantastic your little guys are. When you see them in my Reptile shops they are just big green blobs stuck on the background that never move. The shops should make there habitat a lot better than the tiny Exoterra tanks they keep them in.

Yeah they are also more active at night so that doesn’t help their case in pet stores during the day time!

I was thinking about getting a Pac man frog but after hearing about a chubby frog I just decided I wanna chubby frog because of it's name and I want a meaty boy. Also you said they're pretty simple and I'm Looking for a chubby, cute, and simple frog. That is the qualities that I want in a frog 😂

White's Tree Frogs are on my list of future possible pets, but it's quite a crowded list so it might be a few years yet. Yours are adorable though!

Great vid, I would suggest against Ranid frogs (family Ranidae, including Bull Frogs) for most people. They are flighty and incredible jumpers. This combination leads to repeated nose trauma which is cruel. They can and have been kept successfully, but for the average keeper there are much better frogs. Cheers, Chris

Leopard frogs! They are semi aquatic and must be housed in a paludarium (or at least a a very large water bowl. It’s best that they be housed alone (though you can have larger fish so it won’t eat them) as they tend to cannibalize smaller frogs and fight with other males. My boy Pablo is extremely easy to care for, and their temperature parameter is fairly large to the point where if you live in a warm area (for example I live in Texas) they might not require a heat lamp, although I highly recommend you do as heat gradients are important for all frogs. They get about 2 to 4.5 inches in length, so be prepared to a large paludarium. My Pablo is in a 10 gallon right now, raised him from a tadpole and he’s only inch, but as they grow they will need a 40 or more depending how large they get :)

I have a Pac-Man frog and I’ve had him about a year and a half now. He’s pretty cool. I like to watch him eat and it’s always fun finding him in new places. They are fat and stupid and wonderful. But mine is a notorious picky eater and gave himself MBD as a baby since he went on a month long hunger strike. I wish he was a bit more aggressive since I got him for that trait but mine is rather docile.

Fire bellied toads are great! I definitely intend on getting some African Dwarf frogs and a White's Tree frog down the line. A dream frog of mine are Poison Dart Frogs, especially Dendrobates Leucomelas, but they are a little more intensive in their care.

Aren't you gonna die from a poison tree frog when you touch them?
@andersschmich86003 жыл бұрын
@@alenaduplantier4505 Nope! in the wild they get their poison from ants and beetles, when bred and raised in captivity eating only things like fruit flies or pinhead crickets they are completely safe.

Frogs and toads are amazing! I'm currently breeding vietnamese bird poop frogs (Theloderma asperum)😁 have 4 tadpoles the now and another 4 eggs developing😊 was totally unplanned but now that they are actually breading, I'm going to give it my all😊 I also keep duck billed tree frogs (Triprion petasatus) but they're both male. So no unexpected breading for them😂 Hoping to get some toad species in future and would love to get into breading oak toads😊 been piling in the research so I'm ready when some come up for sale/rehoming😊

I would live to get a couple of frogs but I do not want to have baby frogs. I have heard it is hard to sex them and people have ended up with a lot of tadpoles. Also, I have a hamster, two hermit crabs, a Halloween Madagascar Hissing cockroaches, a colony of Giant Islander Cockroaches, a Black Tiger Striped Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches. Not to mention my son has a bearded dragon. So, our pets enclosures are large which means no space for a frog habitat. But they are beautiful and so peaceful to watch.
@JessicasAnimalFriends3 жыл бұрын
Whites tree frogs are not too complicated to sex and sometimes when you buy them fully grown the person will be able to tell you if they’re male or female. Bombina frogs are easier to sex as long as you can identity nuptial pads. Same goes for African dwarf frogs. Chubby frogs and tomato frogs are easy due to the size difference between males and females. Also, in most frogs the males are more vocal.

I was just looking for advice on getting a frog and stumbled on this. You're the best. With that being said I have a rather large non-aquatic tank that's 4 ft long by 3ft tall and 2 ft deep from front to back. I want to try my first frog enclosure I would like to keep more than one if possible is this a good size to keep more than one? My other question is can you keep more than one species in the same enclosure?
@williamcox37093 жыл бұрын
I also forgot to ask, what are your thoughts about dart frogs
@JessicasAnimalFriends3 жыл бұрын
I wouldn’t cohab multiple species. But in an enclosure that large you could keep a group of whites tree frogs comfortably.
