Leopard geckos eat their shed?! I never knew this! Is this why my juvenile leopard gecko is pooping huge white logs? I’m genuinely curious
@loppydoodle726Күн бұрын
the "white logs" might actually be urates, calcium and other things left over that they expel when they pee. I don't know a lot about leopard geckos compared to other reptiles, so you might want to look them up and compare what your geckos are leaving

I have two leopard geckos and they're both overweight. I typically put their food in a bowl because they both have a loose substrate and the worms and roaches tend to hide under things where neither of my geckos can reach them. I considered putting their food just loose in there so they'd have to hunt for it better but I'm concerned about them not being able to access their food. I'm also concerned about impaction. Does anybody have any suggestions for what I should do to help them lose weight?

Thank you again! This was extremely helpful. I worry a lot about if what I am doing is best. This is my first year with reptiles. I adopted four this year.

I just lost my beardie yoda he was like my best friend I had a cave setup made of bricks and I didn’t realize that maybe it was too close to the edge or something but I found him with a brick on top of him and it seems like he suffocated and I’ve been devastated by it I had to look up a video so I didn’t feel alone I miss my beardie so much I feel so much guilt because if I just checked at the right time I could’ve saved him ugh thanks for helping me feel that I’m not alone ❤

Too cute! Sorry this is off topic but could you please tell me how you handle leopard gecko brumation?
@JessicasAnimalFriends4 күн бұрын
I have a video about it on my channel but basically I don’t encourage brumation in my leopard geckos, very few brumate and those that do I still offer food to see if they take it. If not I just leave them be as long as their health is normal

Hi so my leopard gecko isn’t pooping and she’s been eating the past 3 days I got her on the 10th and when I handled her her stomach didn’t have any lumps or anything and her sides don’t look off but she hasn’t pooped is there any way to make her poop cause she is on paper towel and the pet store we got her from had barely any loose substrate her temperature is also a bit far from where she is should I put her on loose substrate to put her closer to her bulb should I get a stronger bulb or should I go to a vet?

The Internet: You're really not supposed to handle frogs. Their skin can easily absorb chemicals from your skin that are toxic to them, and even if it were safe, it just stresses them out Kiwi: Good thing I don't have internet access~

You’re such a kind person Jessica, giving the special needs animals a high quality life! I didn’t know about these neurological defects, related to breeding. Are bearded dragons prone to this as well?
@JessicasAnimalFriends9 күн бұрын
Bearded dragons do have a number of problematic morphs or issues from inbreeding unfortunately. I have one named Chihiro who does not have full mobility in her legs. Silkback bearded dragons are an example of a problematic morph.

I'm 12 and I keep Australian whites, giant crimsons, mantis, anoles, toads, a fence lizard, vinegaroon and a bunch of isopods, I've had one vet visit, my fence lizard had been getting seizures which has stopped happening, my dad is an expert with reptiles and amphibians care, my toad stopped eating and my dad helped, we force fed him and I guess he realized how good food taste and started eating again afterwards😂
