Aaaaand Paizo just announced Starfinder Enhanced, coming October 2023. "From totally revised fundamentals like core classes and starship combat to brand-new systems for expanding the way you play, this 192-page hardcover rules resource offers fresh ideas while still blending with the existing system. With Starfinder Enhanced at hand, you’ll be ready for the countless challenges of infinite space! Starfinder Enhanced includes: New versions of the envoy, solarian, technomancer, and witchwarper classes, all revised to make them more balanced and easier to play. New class features and character options for every Starfinder class published to date! New archetypes, spells, equipment, and over 90 new feats. Truly build the character you want! Rules for scalable equipment, so you never have to trade-in your trusty sidearm ever again. New subsystems for narrative starship combat, expanded creature companions, and new chances to spend Resolve Points for every character! 12 playable species including fan favorites and entirely new options, from the shapeshifting kitsune to the tiny novians born from dying suns!" I have a feeling that this will be a must-have as soon as it is released.

Greetings again... I've purchased almost all books for Starfinder, after listening to your reviews. You were spot on with all your insightful walkthroughs of the material. Thank you so much for your helpful guidance. The only thing that I've done differently was to break up the pact worlds into seperate systems. As I personally feel that sentient species would not be found all in one system. Other than that, I love the game and all the hard work you put into your videos. I have sent several coworkers and friends to your channel to get them started. Paizo needs to put you on the payroll... I've literally bought 14 rulebooks (counting the 4 Alien Archives volumes) directly due to you. Keep up the great work!!!

Well, thank god there's not like 1200 Books like there are Pokemon! And no, I have NO IDEA if there are that many, I just know last I actually paid attention there was more than 800, it's been... quite some time so 1200 could be close!!!

Have you considered doing a list of top 3rd party books for Starfinder? Currently I don't have many, but really like "Starfarer Species Reforged", and the "Advanced Occult Guide" by Everybody Games.

I have plans around this

I got the Pocket Edition of the Core Rulebook this past week. I'm looking at ordering the Alien Archive in March. And I'm thinking of planning an adventure in earnest once I have it. And maybe the Armory after that. World-builder that I am, maybe I'll get the Galaxy Exploration Manual and Interstellar Species at some point.

The last two are nice to haves but I think you are on the right track for books

By my understanding, Subversion is a home-brewed (and probably improved) version of Shadowrun from people who have worked on Shadowrun.

Yeah. We know Opti
@cheyennetrumbos Жыл бұрын
It's certainly NOT a version of Shadowrun. (I'm the manager for the Kickstarter and work closely with Fragging Unicorns Games and Opti) It's a unique setting and unique dice system. the only thing it shares with Shadowrun is genre. (And some writers, ofc)

Curious to ask if there are any guides on adapting Starfinder rules to be played as more of a hard sci-fi game (e.g. 2001 a space odyssey)
@TheMapleTable Жыл бұрын
Actual in the galaxy exploration manual it does give some ideas and examples how how to run a more hard science fiction.

I would also say that the Pact Worlds can be good in that it gives GMs some nice NPCs to throw at players, and also each of the planets is so unique that they really can be a good starting point even if you just want to homebrew. You got a planet of robots, a lush jungle planet, a desert planet, a tidally locked planet with a utopian society, a hostile planet of undead, an asteroid belt, a planet with extreme climate shifts and dragons, two very different gas giants with very interesting moons, a hostile barren planet run by drow megacorps, and an HP Lovecraft fever dream. Any one of those is a great starting place to build off of.

How funny, I got my first books in the exact order you listed, core, then Archive 1, COM, then Armory (I ordered the last two at the same time but the COM came a day earlier) Also I might be wanting to grab pact worlds as I am using the starfinder setting as a base for my game (made a homebrew star system that is a frontier in the vast that my players are in, but they’re from the pact worlds)
@TheMapleTable Жыл бұрын
Its still such a good book. If you like the vesk near space is like the pact worlds and deserves honorable mention

I got Attack of the Swarm book 1 after core rulebook because it's easier to learn as a DM and Player by playing the game 🤣 It's so different from D&D and my group love it!

To be fair, I would have included Galactic Magic in the Top 5 since it just adds up so much to the magical side of the game which was almost numb in the core rulebook. It added 120 spells and rituals and makes the games just more magical! But that’s just my opinion 😊
@TheMapleTable Жыл бұрын
Im with you on this but the feedback from most players I have talked to is that they want less magic and more tech. It's still a really good book though

@@TheMapleTable From what I've heard so far: character building and customization is great, action economy is great, long term play of a character can get very repetitive. Curious to see your thoughts!
