I’ve done the diversified collection and have tried almost everything and I find myself selling them. Those are the exact top 4 brands that I rotate through now. For my usage they just work

Another relatable and well executed upload. I’ve reviewed countless archives of makes/models and have yet to encounter a single piece I like more than a MCK Damascus/carbon fiber Scarab2🤩

No shortage of good knives these days, but brands that cultivate a clear and distinct identity are the best at building followings. So many variables to weight when choosing a knife to collect or carry, and when most knives work perfectly fine, aesthetics and stories make all the difference.

Good stuff, Scoutmaster Carter. It’s interesting how we all connect with different varieties and sometimes companies.

The Chris Reeve is the only one that I would like to add to my collection. The Demko is way too massive for me, the Hinderer has a shape I don’t really like and the Strider is a knife I’ve never liked. But then, each of those knives is a very special one and a good one for sure, so I can totally see why you like them. It’s just that there are different tastes - and it’s good that way. BTW, you’ve got a new follower. :)

It's funny how everyone's journey is different. I have no interest in any of those. It's not a cost/valve issue. They're all cool and very well made. I recently knocked my collection down to only what I'm gonna carry and use. I wear shorts 95% of the time (Florida), so that makes it interesting. It's cool to hear other peoples perspectives on their own journeys. It's all about having fun with your hobby.

I really like the Apocalyptic Finish Natural clear Microtech's for sure. They really hide the use marks and look new much longer. I think right now I have 8 Scarab II's right now few customs and the rest the gen 2 and gen 3.

Ive used and tried pretty much everything worth trying. Im far past the Chinese made fidget knives. Never were interested in WE, Civivi, kizer etc. I've moved on to customs but still have a few production/ midtechs which consists solely if strider, CRK, Emerson Les George, and a microtech socom. I use and abuse my knives and all the ones i have left i feel i could bet my life on.
@Dirtyknives00710 күн бұрын
I agree, I have one CRK, one Strider, and sold my hinderer. I replaced my hinderer with a zt0562 in magnacut. I could see myself buying maybe one more crk if the stars align but if I had the money I'd buy at least 3 more striders. This was a great video but I think emerson knives might fit into the convo as well. They are similar to strider since they don't make big changes but have a huge selection of models which makes them stand out in my mind.
@firstlast2514Күн бұрын
I wish hinderer did more battlefield pickup. Seriously looks dope. That mick strider custom is sick. My pick would be the AD20 though. My first hinderer had HORRIBLE detent lash, got it brand new from DLT. I sent it in to hinderer to get it fixed and i was told that it was my fault and that i messed with either the detent ball or the detent hole... Which i dont mess with any of my detents, let alone my very first hinderer. So that being said, i cant ever bring myself to ever buy one again. Which sucks, because before all that happened they were my grail dream knife... Now i kind if disdain the company. Sucks

The XM-24 has rose to the 2nd favorite model I own. Have 5 of them so far, the old school Curtis Customs F3 large is #1 for me. Strider would be third, specifically the SMF, sold all but one of my CRK's they just seem bland to me know and the Demko shark lock is a no-go for me, don't like it at all....Direware for me is the king of the most technically sound built fodder I've encountered so far....IMO.

That’s awesome. Those knives are great. Unfortunately I have too many hobbies to keep money tied up in knives if they don’t get carried. If I have a $500 knife that gets carried once a month, guess what? It’s probably gonna get sold to open some funds for something that I actually will use(doesn’t have be a knife). I understand though, that some people eat, sleep and breathe knives.

Hinder vs strider collectibility comes down to the people that bought them.
@edged_mindset10 күн бұрын
Collectability is primarily driven by supply and availability. Hinderers are produced in fat more numbers (in general, I know there are some special versions that are rare).
@r.barnett42149 күн бұрын
@@edged_mindset My concept of collectibility of things is if they are suitable to be collected. Has nothing to do with rarity or availability. So I see it as something that is in the eye of the beholder or collector. I collect all manner of Tactile Knife Co. Rockwall thumb stud folders. They are plentiful. I just like ‘em, so I collect ‘em!

I mean, it’s a modified holy trinity with late-comer to the ranks. I personally don’t disagree with you here at all. Now my CNC semi custom Trinity would be Eutsler, Oz machine and SPK or Brown with Koenig and Grimsmo kind of falling behind to the newer designs.

Na it ain’t weird. We all like what we like. One of my top 5 favourites right now is also a new addition (microtech Socom Elite). And to be honest I don’t love much of the rest of Microtech’s manual lineup. I only have the socom and the amphibian. I have too many CRK’s and would also have too many Striders if they were easier to get in Canada
