I have experienced my 2006 650i convertible for 3 years now, love it, maintenance cost not so much. Luckily I have a Toyota daily driver.

I have a manual coupe 650i, driving position isn't amazing but the clutch is fine, better than the 3 series I had

What are the criticisms of the 650i clutch based on? Never driven one

@@neonman1604honestly I’m not even sure having driven mine. But, I’ve got my suspicions it’s something called a clutch delay valve. BMW liked to fit them back then, my e90 had one and it made for interesting clutch control because basically it’d slow the rate the clutch would engage to stop you sidestepping it and damaging it. But go slightly faster than the delay and you’d get slightly more slip than you’d expect. My Z4 I think had it removed because it was normal but my mates z4 was like my e90. My 650i is just like a normal clutch so I’m going to guess they had them as standard and mine has been removed? Who knows. Either way it’s great fun and really gets going, third gear will do all the speeds you need, it’ll pull away in 3rd and go all the way passed 100mph

@@jackmcdermott7383 Yeah my initial guess was CDV as well, but I couldn’t find threads about 650i’s and CDVs. Rare car so prolly not much documented, if it had one to begin with… IMO the wretched trio of fun killers in modern RDW manual cars are: 1. CDV 2. Heavy flywheel 3. Heavy dampened electronic throttle

I have the 650i hard top in the same colour, I’ve kept it in supreme condition and I can easily say it’s the most attractive BMW ever made, and by far the best “NUCULAR BOMB” they ever made.

The SL 350 is an SL, a gentleman’s daily no-thrill sports car. The BMW is a modern take on the CSL in a convertible version, with interior that should be in a company rep’s 5 series. Neither of them are the real deal, but a compromise. I didn’t think that I would agree with Clarkson, but if he was reviewing a supercharged Jag, then it kind of makes sense. An SL500 or 55, on the other hand...

Why are you using a euro 350 instead the 550,,, what a disgrace and stupid car guys. And you just said SL350 , don’t float you boat,,I never watched your shows and probably never never will , I want a source to see SL550 over a bmw or a 911,
