I've heard people saying that compared to what BMW is putting out now, the Bangle era doesn't seem so bad. Some guy at my office still drives an M6 convertible. Jobs in my office pay well, which is probably how he can afford to keep it going.

My high school history teacher had this silver convertible 6 series i dont know what spec he had but he definitely was a bmw man, i took two of his classes and would see him about the school occasionally and each time i saw him we was always had different polo shirt, had and shorts color set or that went with the color palette he wanted that day. But he was the chillest teacher i had ever had.

This is my guilty pleasure car. I Adore this design, I think it’s beautiful and graceful. Could look at this car all day. If I had endless funds I’d take a M6 with a stick and drive it till I’m sick of it.

I love my 2004 645ci.....also with the SMG transmission and sport package.....I found the first owners paperwork and he paid 85k for it....if I had paid that amount and then how stupid the SMG shifts I would have been pretty mad...😂

my 2008 135i is a fun little car. i suppose dollar for dollar the 3 series gives more, but garage space was the main thing here. i traded equally for my 2008 solstice, which was starting to get on my nerves with all GM plastic things breaking, rear window falling out and convertible top was is THE WORST DESIGN....EVER in the history of tops.

A friend a 2010, needed barring on the front passenger side last year, cost $1200. My mouth dropped to the floor, never saw the car again. Was driving a Lexus IS two months later. Moral of the story, don’t be an idiot.

It’s a machine that handles well on tight roads , accelerating great, stops even better, with muffler deletion sounds very nice , 330 hp and nearly the same amour of torque it goes hard . As it gets older I found the variable cam and intake valve is the issue , once the top end gaskets were replaced The variable intake and wiring associated needs replacing. Along with the servos for the cams . Driven hard and love driving it . Comparing cost to buying something newer that will fail , I’m happy to be beating the shyte out of my 645ci I got for less than ten grand nz

Ci doesn't stand for convertible. C stands for coupe, bmw would put that on the sportier designed coupes. Such as the old 635csi, for that one csi stands for coupe, sport, injected(efi). In the 645ci it stands for coupe, injected. Idk why guys make videos but tont know the car they review and just speaknout there ass. Your a great video good video videogropher but need to edjucate yourself more.

@@unowen-nh9ov no it isn't. I is for injected as in fuel injected it started in the 70s or 80s. C is for coupe its nomenclature that was originally used then dropped and revived for 2 years with the 645ci. Go look bmw advertisement pictures of coupes or even the bmw brochure of 04 05

@@unowen-nh9ov the bme 635csi isn't a convertible, Google bmw 645i you won't find one. Bmw never used a c to denote a cabriolet. Bmw used the c to denote the sport oriented coupes, before M cars were a thing & at the beginning of M cars. They dropped the C when the 4.8 engine to make the 650i and decided not to continue with the C.

I have the same car. Nice looking car, nice ride, but not reliable at all. Radio is not working anymore. CCC unit failure after 50,000. I- drive does not work. Summary I will never buy a BMW again. I will stick with Toyota instead.

But name ONE other brand that has this much tech, that is comparable to a 2015 anything, when you could roll off the lot in 2005 with this thing. It’s not gonna be a Mercedes from 05.

We're all regurgitating because it's true. It's ugly and unreliable which is more important than how many toys it has. The 2005 Toyota Prius, while not focused on luxury or the driving experience, was just as techy with its integrated touchscreen that ran everything and could show info on the drivetrain. Toyota in the mid-00s was trying new things with their cars and Lexus except that their stuff actually worked and kept working.

Well I definitely agree with you on the idrive system but those cars are a pleasure to drive I actually owned 2 650i convertible’s before an 07&08 best car ever when you don’t have to spend money I didn’t have maintenance problems cause I kept up with just the basic and by the way they actually have the upgraded radio for those cars with apple CarPlay which is nice I had it.

That did not age well, inside or out. The interior has that awful i-Drive system, and the exterior has that awful Bangle-era design. All combined with reliability that makes Kias of the same era seem like Hondas. The 6 Series drives very nicely, though.

This design was from the Chris Bangle era, so design of most BMW (except the X5) were very radical. The E65 7 series was arguably the worst of his designs.
