It's likely that the gang boss had a sort of personal "code" that expressly forbade harming "kids" like Robbie and Gabe, so finding out that "his crew" had a hand in what happened to Robbie and Gabe likely hit him hard (I wouldn't be surprised if he was locked up entirely due to turning himself in over feeling guilt about what "his crew" did to Robbie and Gabe). After all, criminal or not, the guy likely had a family and kids of his own, and thinking about what happened to Robbie and Gabe causes him to imagine what it would have been like if his own kid(s) wound up going through something like that.

I love how they weren't afraid to go dark with their portrayal of Ghost Rider. This was straight up murder. And this wasn't like other times in the season, attacking people during criminal acts or you at least know they've done some horrible shit. This guy was not involved in Robbie's death and Gabe's being crippled. And he is genuinely upset at 1:21 when Robbie describes the hit. And as Mace says later the guy was a very well behaved prisoner looking at early release and if we take the guy at his word, he was done with his old life. But Ghost Rider does not believe in redemption apparently, and I love that they had the guts to put characters like this on screen. So many other shows/movies would just play it safe.

These are worlds where people have mystical powers and advanced technology, the worlds where people who devote their lives, both physically and personaly, in keeping peace and bringing justice, and these are people who have god like powers. Ghost Rider, no matter which version, goes after people who have it coming. There is no discrimination and no reasoning with the Rider. He will go after everyone he deems guilty and spares those he deems innocent. There's no doubt in my mind that if the ghost Rider was put in shield, he would go after every single person including captain America bc they all have blood on their hands one way or another. They've killed someone and those who kill are deemed guilty by the hell fire that surrounds the Rider.

This is one of the reasons why the Ghost Rider clearly beats Batman in terms of striking fear into the hearts of criminals. His mere presence alone is enough to scare anyone back into their cells, and if needed he will "provide examples" for those who aren't afraid. If Ghost Rider ever visited Arkham Asylum or Blackgate Penitentiary, he would burn it straight to Hell leaving no survivors and Gotham City's crime rate would plummet to non-existence.

In actuality there have been five Ghost Riders. Carter Slade was the first. Johnny Blaze was the second. Danny Ketch was the third, and is Johnny's brother. Both were Ghost Riders at the same time. The fourth one was a woman named Alejandra Jones. Who technically was only a partial rider. Then Robbie Reyes comes in as the fifth Ghost Rider. Scratch that, there are a total of seven. The other two are unknown to me at this time. Their names are Michael Badilino and Kushala. Don't know anything about these two, just clarifying my lack of knowledge.

I'll admit, before I did my research and found out that Robbie is an official Marvel character as opposed to a DEI hire casting, I thought "Oh, of course they made him Latino, big shocker there." Especially after watching this scene, I'm impressed! Gabriel's intensity in this scene really sold it, their speaking Spanish helped with immersion, and when he did what we all knew he'd do? I don't blame those gang bangers for diving back into their cells--they probably thought it was the Devil himself come for them. The swagger was just the icing on the cake! The idea of Ghost Rider dealing with gang bangers and thugs in the barrio is a novel one and it fits the character concept well, I think.
