Here's a few tactical tips. 1. Be aware of your muzzle. It's best to back off from windows, doorways, corners and cover when you are pieing or firing. For example: if you are firing from a window while standing close to it, anybody who can see that window can see your barrel, muzzle flash and smoke and know exactly where you are. 2. (A) If you are breaching a room with other players, clear your corner and move along the wall out of the door frame to allow your teammates to enter the room and back you up. If you are second in the stack, enter the room and clear the opposite corner of the point man in front of you. If you are 3rd and 4th, do the same, essentially zig zagging into the room. 2. (B)Everybody should be hugging the same wall where the entry point is and NOBODY should push to the center of the room or hold in the doorway, this makes sure that everyone is clear of any friendly fire and also means more friendly weapons on threats. 3. Clear radio comms for vital information only during combat, there is such a thing as over saturation of comms and it can be cumbersome, especially for the Squad leader that needs to take both the squad members information and the information of 8+ other squads. 4. Use more bounding tactics, you should learn to feel the firefight, shoot when you need to so you can maintain fire superiority and suppression and move when you are able to. If you are in close proximity to teammates to where friendly fire is possible, call out your movement. 5. If you are using smoke to conceal an attack, throw your smokes as far as possible toward the enemy. You want to reduce THEIR visibility, not your own. 6. If a medic is healing you in a corner, yes it's a special moment when you gaze into each others eyes, but your priority should be security for both yourself and the medic who doesn't have a weapon out.

I love baiting enemies after they kill a teammate with the quick drag or revive sound. If they see their feet move they think you're gonna drag em off just drag slightly pull out your gun and catch em off guard. Also another tip, SL is always right. even if its a bad move just listen bc its better to have a cooperative shitty squad than a dysfunctional squad period.
@belestairkurokami-hw2vh Жыл бұрын
I agree, “A plan violently executed now is better than a perfect one tomorrow”. but a squad lead can sometimes make bad decisions because they don’t have enough information, if their team communicate well, they have 9 sets of eyes and ears. It’s key to suggest ideas to them but maintain the respect of their leadership, lines like: I think we should move on to the next cap, sound better than: fkin idiot, why we still here SL?. An exaggeration I know. But if they disagree you should follow them still. Unless their calls are consistently terrible. But it’s a hard call tbh.

Another tip for spotting enemies at mid-long range. Human eye senses movement, so a lot of the time when I'm looking for enemies I'm looking for movement or pixels that look different or out of place. I have much more success if when scanning my environment, instead of using a sweeping motion with the mouse, I sort of take visual snapshots by holding my mouse still, then sweep across to the next 'screen' of vision, and hold still again. This way I can see movement much better, whereas if I'm sweeping, everything on my screen is moving and it's much harder to tell. Obviously this depends on context and environment so I'm not saying it's what you should be doing all the time. Other advice: use your map a lot and think about where the enemy might be. If you don't have a scope, use your binoculars, they're amazingly useful on many maps and can net you kills.

What do you have your map button set to? I switched scoreboard and map buttons, TAB for map and M for scoreboard. Map reading and sound is an integral part of the game. If you know enemies are near and you're looking for one another, try giving your position away by shooting at nothing, so as to lure an enemy player towards you. Like if they think you're trying to engage someone 100 meters away, but you're just waiting for them. Gotta be real keen with this, though. ... and, after spending so many hours playing the game, I feel like you just get a sixth sense about how certain situations tend to pan out.

As a new player I am enjoying this but find it a steep learning curve, and not as many "new player friendly" servers have players actually willing to help a new player as I'd have thought. I find it very very hard to distinguish enemies from my own side because of similarities with the uniforms. Consequently I typically choose medic because I can heal people for squad points a lot easier than not being sure who it is I am looking at for a few seconds. In fact, because of this, I have started to play Squad 44 instead because uniform distinction is mush easier.

Much prefer view icons as roles. Totally disagree about situational awareness on that topic, its a huge boost to situational awareness to know what kits are around you and what your options are as a squad or as a group in your immediate area as well as rest of the map. They honestly should combine both, have the arrow showing player facing direction as well as role icon. That would be most ideal.
@deslow7411 Жыл бұрын
The biggest flaw of this game is the lack of GOOD friendly player indicators/icons. Even with 100+ hours on the game I'm still checking the map every 10 seconds to see where are all my allies so I don't shoot them. So many time have I've been killed especially in close quarter situations by friendlies in the middle of a combat simply because they didn't immediately recognise me, but this could be easily avoided by just adding blue triangles on top of our heads. And I'm not going to lie it happens to me from time to time. Awkward situation. I know the game aims to be realistic, but me checking my map constantly, because I don't want to shoot friendly players isn't realistic at all and sucks the joy of the gameplay. ITS JUST A GAME and nobody likes friendly fire.

The thing that frustrates me is how much recoil there is, the game acts like a 5 year old is shooting
@Oscarmike2473 жыл бұрын
Yes, I like the recoil in that you have to steadily fight the recoil, but the way it gets progressively more out of control is a bit out of touch with reality for me. I've had experience shooting full auto's, mostly smg and 5.56 AR15, and I find that the most uncontrol able point of a mag dump is the first initial shots. Typically the guns becomes more controllable the longer you hold the trigger on full auto because your mind corrects the steady pressure and you just let your body weight lean into it after the initial jolt.
@Oscarmike2473 жыл бұрын
Also, the way guns like the M249 have more recoil than an M4 is unrealistic as well. Guns that weigh more will have less felt recoil compared to lighter guns of the same caliber. Video games always portray the SAW as having more recoil than say an M16 because they just look bigger. In reality, an M4 will have more felt recoil than a M249 because it is lighter, but shoots the same cartridge allowing the recoil to move the gun easier. The SAW is very controllable in reality. You can dump a whole belt in a good area around the target without fighting it too much. Unlike in the game where it eventually sends your muzzle into the air.

The best tip for light vehicles, DON'T just drive straight in like you see in games like Halo. I see it all the time and usually if your versing a competent team they will blow you up as soon as you get within 100 meters. Hang back a little, use hills and walls to cover the sides you are not able to watch. Use friendly infantry squads to flush out the enemy while you provide suppressing fire. Communicate in local chat with your driver/ gunner. The driver typically is only able to see in front of the vehicle so use the turret to look in the directions that he is not able to watch
@Dr00pysp00n3 жыл бұрын
I struggle with actual gameplay and feeling useful, what are the things I can do to benefit my team other than just use my specified kit?
@rybot52523 жыл бұрын
Communicating is the most beneficial thing you can do for your team. Calling out directions that it sounds like you are taking fire from/ known enemy locations gets everyone looking in the right direction and allows them to cover you if the enemy has you pinned. Use cardinal directions and be concise. Sometimes its not you, if your squad lead is not relaying information or putting markers on the map there's not much you can do to make the game play better. If I'm not squad leading I typically always ask for a fire team lead. I spend a lot of time marking directions and enemies if I am not under fire. Find a good squad lead or take the reigns when you are comfortable. Remember, "There are no bad teams, only bad leaders"
@azurecoast453 жыл бұрын
Suppress enemy positions (in moderation) even if you don't have a kill-shot. Check the map, is your whole team /squad looking in one direction and ignoring other possible angles the enemy could approach from? Might be worth being the guy who covers that angle. Do logi runs if they're needed and no-one else is, as long as you aren't using an important kit (medic or AT). Also, rescue friendly logi's if they are in danger of being overrun by the enemy, even if it just means hopping in and driving them back 50 or 100 meters. Remember if the logi has ammo in it you should be able to pick up a crewman kit and repair it if it's damaged/disabled. Make sure as a rifleman you are ready to offer ammo to team-mates; the most important people you can resupply are your squadleader (rally point), AT (rockets) and medic (more bandages).
@patrikstreng68343 жыл бұрын
Speaking from irl military experience; Give your SL's constant info about the enemy, ask for directives or give suggestions. Never push alone, always have someone covering you or cover someone. Use the LMG's from a distance as fire support while at the same time looking out for enemy movement. Giving the SL info is the most important thing as that allows the platoon leader to use mortars actively and efficiently. Why fire a bullet when you can send a grenade.

I don't run epic; I use hesuvi. Epic directly lowers your fps while hesuvi iirc doesn't cost much cpu-wise(or at least it doesn't run on the same thread Squad gets bottlenecked on, which helps immensely). Player role helps a lot more because just because you know where they're looking, that doesn't guarantee they're capable of seeing enemies(nor does it tell you if they're looking into the ground/sky). Player role allows rifleman to find LAT/HAT or vice versa, and for you to find out which green guy is the one that needs ammo. The presence of allied player in a particular direction means someone usually gets shot before you if enemy is in that way.
