It might be over two years late but this was a beautiful video to watch, i lived in Shanklin many years ago when i was a kid and my Dad played for Shanklin for a few seasons so it was awesome to see the club again and know it's still going strong. Well batted as well, always ncie to see you get some runs. A close game and a shame you couldn't get the win but still well played at the end of the day.

Seeing the field they set reminds me of a beer match I played in many years ago. We'd bowled the opposition out for 55 and won by ten wickets in the proper game, so we had a beer match to fill time - when their openers came out, we had everyone in the slip and gully area except for one fielder at mid-on. First ball, the batsman put it straight down the mid-on's throat. I guess when it's not your day, it's not your day!

I used to play leather ball cricket when I was in Boarding School way back in 1997. Lost touch with leather ball cricket since I could not find cricket clubs for working men in my vicinity and the ones that were there were 40 kms away in South Mumbai.. One day a customer came to my office who happened to be an Ex-Ranji player (Indian Domestic Cricket Championship - highest grade)..I was delighted when he told me that he ran a coaching clinic for youngsters and invited me over to have a go at the youngsters (I am 40 yrs old btw).. I immediately bought a kit from him (he also has his cricket gear company called Virtus Cricket)..Wifey gifted me a traditional Kashmir willow so that I could get my bearings right before moving on to an English willow.. Happy days were back until the pandemic screwed us over!! its monsoon here in Mumbai and I cant wait to get back on the field.. Your videos make me happy..I love watching your videos..keep them coming!! cheers!!

Congrat's on the innings, well done. I hate those slow, loopy spinners on a slow dry wicket. Looks like you can smash everything, but the lack of pace, grip and bounce makes it much harder than it looks. Another amazing ground to play cricket.
