Top Knot OR Robert Pattinson Style Haircut?! He Chose the 2nd Option!

Harry was undecided whether he wanted to keep growing into a top knot/man bun style or go for a shorter haircut. After Dan suggested a Robert Pattinson inspired medium length haircut with shorter back and sides, Harry decided it was time to lose the length and get something that suited him. Dan gave Harry a messy textured top haircut with a low number 1 on the back and sides.

Try to build a relationship with one of the people you go to. Find who cuts the beat for you and ask for them specifically. Bring a picture and say what you like specifically about it. Make sure to tip well. My satisfaction with my haircuts has improved so much sense i’ve done these things.

I wish I had this texture of hair. My hair would never be this textured. I have super straight no wave no curl nothing. Stick straight and on top of all that, any time I cut it too short, it frizzes out and never lays flat. This guys texture is what really brings this haircut and style together.

Dan, the only part I don't understand is at the end where you lift up the hair and underneath you are thinning it. You go so fast but don't slow down to teach the method for thinning without taking too much off or gouging. Would like more explanation for this step please. Another magical makeover by Dan. But…the trouble with these cuts is the sides & back start to grow out very quickly. So in a couple of weeks it’s going to need another touch up. And how much will that cost? I was spending $100-$150 at the salon every 2 weeks to keep up the style when I had this look. Eventually I opted to just keep it shorter & I still go every month. Vanity comes with a hefty price tag.

There are KZbin tutorials for how to touch things like that up, so if he trusts his hand and his ability to learn, he is able to touch his sides up and not have to go back to the barber regularly.

Will it work for asian straight and thick hair? I'd love to have a little bit of texture at the top but usually it only works for the first two weeks and after that it's gone.

I guess the issue is this guy had quite a bit of bend in his hair. A lot of straight Asian hair lacks that. You can perm the hair or do other treatments but I wouldn’t for hair damage reasons. You can also try a diffuser and see if it works for you.
