you can tell Dan was very impressed by this guy's ability to cut his own hair. it was a really good cut! i would never have guessed he cut it himself. as Dan said, it's very difficult cutting your own hair. i've been doing my own cuts for years and i have no idea what i'm doing. LOL.. but watching these videos really helps. i truly believe that some people are born with a natural talent for cutting hair; they can see the angles and the techniques come fairly easy to them. and then there's the rest of us; struggling with the mirror and the combs and the clippers! great video. loved it.

Hi Dan, I've been watching you work for several months and enjoy seeing you transform "mop jobs" into the most flattering styles to best suit your customers' hair and face. I have never actually sat in a barbershop. When i was a kid, my mom would cut our hair. She learned from my aunt, who was a hair stylist. Once I moved out, I started cutting my hair. Started off basic not too short, so that you couldn't notice how bad the blend was. Now, I do a low fade with a medium length on the top. I've been cutting my hair for 16 years now. Dan and Regal Gentleman have helped a lot. Especially with my scissor work. If I had the chance to, I would get my haircut by Dan.

First of all he did an amazing job himself secondly Dan I loved how you were able to minimize his bulk but yet leave him with volume and not going way too high but not leaving it way too low perfect job well done 👍 I often struggle at the crown area and I always fear that I'm going to take too much off the volume because with his hair type going up to high is going to take off a lot of hair and change the whole haircut and his cowlick that he has at the top going to short is going to make it difficult for him to style it so the way you executed this haircut well done. And the way you showed him how to style his hair perfect I would have said the same thing I often find the cow lick you have to work with the cowlicks in a circular motion! Well done! I'm definitely re-watching this video over and over I love how you cut the sides of his hair it fits perfectly to his hair type and hair shape!

12:15 Kinda same experience. I also have asian black straight hair. It became very clear barbers and hair stylist didn't know how to cut. They always went too high and short I assume to cut off my swirl or crown. So I learn to taper 1-3" guard let my length grow now hope someone knows how to use their clippers lol
