This was my second year at UKGE. Thing I have learnt is that 1 day is not enough, especially if you have shows etc. booked. Next year definitely going to try and do 2 days and stay over. Its such and enormous event, I never got to see everything I wanted. I still managed to buy many, many games. The bring and buy is excellent. Managed to clear space for new games. The enthusiasm of the demo givers was brilliant. Played a lovely fun game, Parachute Pandas, so much fun. Got a glimpse of new games with Asmodee. Still so much I did not see.

Hey Jordan, was great to chat to you at Salute (we talked about Epic 40k). If you're looking for a fantastic boardgame convention, Airecon in Harrogate (March) is fantastic! It's more focused on playing games than buying them (there is a trade hall but it's small) with the convention center being mostly tables for free play. They have a great games library, a bring and buy, and web tools to arrange game in advance (or there are plenty of games looking for players on the day).

Sounds like you had loads of fun which is what it's all about. Partizan his really chilled with lots of new games and and stuff to play. UKGE if your there for 1 day plan the main places you want to go to because it's just so big it will be easy to miss stuff there. I have to agree with you the staff and the store holders are soo excited about what they are taking there excitement alone draws you into there games.

I didn't see you at UKGE this year, maybe I will next year. I totally missed that Rivers of Gold was there. Slightly annoyed that i missed that one. I did, however, get to demo Hobgoblin. I didn't speak to Sir Ian this year, but I have spoken to him (and Steve) in the past. Always take Monday off after UKGE. It is exhausting. Treat it as a five day weekend.

It was my first time at UK Games Expo. Absolutely loved it (Also tied it in with a trip to Warwick Castle to see some medieval jousting!). Did keep an eye out for you but alas did not see you. Did run into Arbitor Ian though and had a chat with him (very nice guy) and think I saw Rob the Honest Wargamer.

I spent all 3 days at the Games Expo, I spent quite a bit of money and played several RPGs (don't ignore the RPG track if you go to the Expo, a lot of sessions for a lot of games are on offer!) but bumping into you was a highlight, Jordan. 😊

I totally get you with the FOMO issues too, I'm always deeply curious about gaming demos, but at the same time I'm worried about missing something somewhere else and....have you ever wished there could be two of you? Great to hear you got on well with Mike Hutchinson, he is such a talented game designer and I cant wait until my copy of Hobgoblin arrives along with the cards to help play it. Finally I am delighted you got hold of a copy of Blood Bowl. One of the GREAT GW games. I have been investing in my BB kit recently with models and stuff from various editions and I am cutting out the Dungeon Bowl tiles that were printed in White Dwarf whilst I watch your video. PS are you planning on doing any other conventions this year? BOYL in August is going to be my first tabletop convention and I am really looking forward to all the old school gaming goodness!

Don't feel guilty about enjoying an event versus covering an event. We always make UKGE an event for us to enjoy as consumers not creators. Covering an event definitely changes your experience in more of a work focused way. Gutted we missed you at Newark cos I would have loved to get you on camera.
