Thank you, this was a lifesaver. Getting ready to send some cards in for grading that I got 20 years ago and couldn't remember what kind of holder I even had them in, looks like I put them in a top loader for storage so I'll move them over to the card savers before shipping.

I like card saver 1s for sealed promo packs, allows your to keep promo without folding the pack cellophane, cardsaver and team bag preserves them WELL!

While I agree that cards can fall out or move around in toploaders, they often get damaged when you are inserting or removing them from card savers. I prefer toploaders.

Where do you get a box like that for all your top loaders? Really need some organization here!
@goldsmithcards2 жыл бұрын
BCW sells them on their website and you can also find them on Amazon. The boxes with two rows are called shoe boxes and then they make bigger ones with 4 rows called monster boxes.

The ultra pro semi rig is probably a good thing to use for PSA grading

If you use a penny sleeve inside the top loader, wouldn’t that be sufficient protection even if it moves around ?
@Fouadelbacha Жыл бұрын
Yes it is, that's why he didn't answer your question.

i also find thatif you tape the top of the top loader, there is no chance of it falling out and practically no movement.
@alajaksa Жыл бұрын
Yes, especially if you use a thicker sleeve it doesn't matter if you use 75pt top loader to send one card as long as you either tape the top of top loader so that the card wont fall out or use saleable top loader sleeve which adds some extra protection from moisture etc. when you ship cards.
@mantlecollector11 ай бұрын
Superior fit innovations has top loader sleeves to protect the toploader from being scratch or the card slipping out. Kinda like putting a graded card sleeve on a psa holder.

At no point in time does a card saver do anything better than a tooader. It pretty much useless imo. If it was for that fact that PSA practically demands u use it to be shipped in for grading. There would be no use for them
@9ramthebuffs9 Жыл бұрын
card savers have been around since way before grading. Cards can fall out of top loaders if dropped or during transport

@@9ramthebuffs9 i find that if you tape the top of the top holder tightly there will practically be no movement or chance of it falling out.
@Iliketurtles2442 Жыл бұрын
Card savers are preferred when shipping to grading because the card saver hugs the card more than a toploader preventing moving or falling our while shipping. If storing for personal top loader with team bag is best imo.
@aricasmar1835 Жыл бұрын
Actually card savers are better for shipping in a pwe cuz they’re more flexible and they’re thinner than a top loader. But I’ve sent cards to both Beckett and psa and used top loaders and never had a problem 🤷♂️

If a toploader has a slight bend to it and you put your card in it, could it bend your card over time and devalue it? Mine came very slightly warped (like very slightly). Should I be concerned?
@bigjax7312 жыл бұрын
Yes, it can also flatten cards with some curvage to them like what happens w/ Topps Chrome.
@goldsmithcards2 жыл бұрын
In my experience a card holder like a top loader or card saver will form to the card rather than the other way around, so I wouldn’t worry about a slight bend in the holder.
@SethInSD2 жыл бұрын
The last few orders of top loaders from Amazon have come warped for me. It's usually the last few top loaders in the pack. Very disappointing. But overall, I prefer top loaders to Card Savers.

If you want to screw up your cards use card savers.
@goldsmithcards2 жыл бұрын
They have bend to them so you need to use cardboard or something else hard on both sides if you are shipping them. In my experience cards are safe in a card saver when stored in a box. The benefit to using them for shipping and why grading companies prefer, if not require, them over top loaders is that cards do not move around in a card saver the way they can in a top loader.
@danfredrickson66532 жыл бұрын
Yes as stated in the video, Card savers do not damage cards. I have all my high end cards in them savers #2 actually to fit a box I made. I’ve prepped them to ship out to grade in the future. Im just waiting for someone to invent a box holding 500 graded cards and a way to organize by sport. Im currently using tall dividers which also work.
@goldsmithcards2 жыл бұрын
@@danfredrickson6653 Yes, good storage boxes for a lot of slabs can be hard to find. BCW makes a Graded Card Shoe Box which holds 100 graded cards. I prefer the locking briefcase style boxes for slabs but they are expensive.
