Loved this video (no surprise...lol!) and I definitely vote for you doing monthly videos like this. You recommended so many amazing books that I want to add to my TBR (if only I had a clone so I could read twice as fast!). Definitely excited about "The Haunting of Alma Fielding" and "The Little Library Christmas" - eee! Can't wait to buy these! Many hugs from New Hampshire, Miranda! I just ordered The Postscript Murders and a few other things from Waterstones earlier today! The shipping to the US in insane so I have to buy five or six things at once to make it worth the price. This is a great video! You always give excellent recommendations. I’ll have to look into John Mullen’s book, because I really enjoyed his Jane Austen one. And I would love for these to be monthly. I can’t buy everything, but I can give it a good try. 😂

I'm always surprised to learn that short stories are not as popular as they are to me. I really enjoy them. I had almost forgotten that I had pre-ordered Red Comet. I'm so looking forward to that one. As a newly minted Horowitz fan, I'm excited at the prospect of Elly Griffiths. All these titles are tempting. I think a preview series would be fun. This was so enjoyable--thank you.

I like short stories depends what they are .cause you can sometimes get though them quicker .sometimes mysteries short stories are good.o🙂

This video was the perfect end to the weekend, Miranda, thank you! Great recommendations and you made me start to look forward to Christmas, when no one needs an excuse to buy and gift books! I loved the sound of the Golden Age of British short stories, Kate Young's latest, The perfect nine, the Food for thought and the Writer's library! Watching your videos is proving ruinous for my bank balance but oh, so much fun! I have read The silver sparrow by the way and I adored it, she is indeed an incredible writer and I think you (and your mum!) are going to love it - it's the perfect book club book, if that does not sound flippant. Ps: Fab lipstick colour on you, it lights up your face!

Miranda I highly recommend a book called October, October by Katya Balens. Ostensibly a children's book but I think it is for any one from 8 to 80 as the writing and story are wonderful and I loved this book so much.

Thanks for this list, I enjoyed a lot the video!! I have some of them in my wishlist for Christmas: The Bloomsbury look (I am an absolute fan of this group, I've read a lot about it and each one of them), British designers at home (looking forward to have it in my hands), The Golden Age of British short stories and The little library Christmas (I adore Christmas time and all related to it). Just a fantastic line-up, Miranda! Many thanks, belatedly; just viewed 3 years late. Youd have been a godsend during pandemic, only was I unaware and unfortunately extremely busy dismantling my library in a dreadful move. This is such a balm especially as I live Right between a wonderful bookstore and a major US library! That is the upshot!

This was so fun! On a first watch, I am most excited for The Artful Dickens, The Windsor Knot, Food for Thought, and The Biscuit. I love those covers for the Agatha Christie novels and Miss Mole. I read John Mullan's book about Jane Austen this summer and it was such a treat!

Loved this, Miranda! I scribbled down at least 10 titles I'd like to read, all new to me and not on my radar at all -- Miss Mole, The Bloomsbury Look, Red Comet and Tea is So Intoxicating (reminds me of Penelope Fitzgerald's The Bookshop) to name a few.
